Occupy Protesters Arrested Outside Michele Bachmann Iowa Headquarters

Ten people associated with Occupy protest movement were arrested outside the headquarters of GOP contender Michele Bachmann Saturday.
The protesters, who Bachmann suggested had come at the behest of President Obama, turned out moments before the Minnesota congresswoman was set to arrive to phone Iowans asking for their support in Tuesday’s first-in-the-nation caucus.
“The people outside are President Obama’s re-election advance team. That’s what you’re seeing outside. What they recognize is that I’m the greatest threat to Barack Obama’s re-election and I intend to be,” Bachmann told reporters after arriving at her offices.
According to spectators, there were a few dozen protests outside the building, located in strip mall here. Among those arrested were two teenagers, including a girl believed to be 14-years-old.
Bachmann, was set to make an entrance at the office by driving herself in the campaign’s large black pickup truck. When she received word about the protests she pulled into a parking lot nearby and waited.
When asked by ABC News why she was not making her way to headquarters, she replied from driver’s side of the truck: “We’re getting ready to go. They’re trying to get everyone assembled. We’ll be there in about a minute.”
Later she tried to outrun and shake ABC News and two print reporters who had followed the truck from an event in Des Moines, where she lunched with an undecided voter for a local television news piece.
Bachmann arrived at her headquarters, entering through a backdoor.
There, she was mobbed by volunteers – many of them students bused in from her out of state alma mater, Oral Roberts University – bypassing any residual protesters and police in the front of the building.
Protesters were also seen at the headquarters of contenders Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry.
Hundreds of protesters from across the country are expected to arrived in Des Moines on Jan. 3, the night of the caucus, to disrupt the candidates and caucus -going.

Why on earth would President Obama do something to hurt Bachmann’s chances at winnIng the Republican nomination – it would guarantee him a victory. The Congresswoman is a delusional, narcissist and megalomanIac for thinking otherwise. The protesters are there because they detest Bachmann and her religious fascist policies! I hope she finishes dead last in Iowa and gets lost for good.

No indication of why the protestors were arrested. A fourteen year old girl sounds like a threat to no one.
It is not illegal to protest unless this is becoming a police state like Syria is.

Oh, and yes; Bachmann probably should be – if she isn’t already – on psych meds. Loon. lol

Why do protesters only bother Republicans? The democrats are in charge so if you dont like it go to the WH and protest there……..when are they going to protest one of Obama`s event?

I don’t understand. I am confused. Why were the protesters arrested? Protesters showed up at Ron Paul’s address to veterans and no one was arrested there. What does Obama have to do with protesters? It’s time for Bachmann to bow out because she is an idiot if she thinks she is a viable candidate for anything other than warmonger.

No doubt they would prefer a marxist state unimpeded free elections.

I’m guessing you were one of those who always thought those Russians were going to invade the United States, right? You were raised to believe McCarthyism was the one true thought process, right? Just admit….”Michelle Bachman should be the president of the United States of America”. Who can deny that she isn’t smarter than Thomas Jefferson, more moral than Abe Lincoln, more educated and informed than Woodrow Wilson, more charasmatic than John Kennedy, more effective than Ronald Reagan, and more popular than George “W” Bush……Michelle has everything….now all she needs are votes from every damned severe fool in America. To those who think the White House is what is causing the “problems” – i presume you mean lost jobs, foreclosures, etc. Actually is was a Republican, Geo. Bush, Jr., who caused the problems. Check your facts. Bachman, yep she’s definitely delusional.
Who’s funding the protesters? They, themselves are. No political party.
President Obama sent the protesters? Crazy. There is no reason he would do that. Bachman garnered the protesters herself by her comments, ideas and egomania.
Protesters want Marxism? Take a look at it. It’s better than what we have now. The only ones who are against the protesters are the 1% who handle the money, most of the politicians, big business owners, etc. If they made minimum wage, even for a month, things would change.

One thing in the article that got me was her “large black pickup truck”. Sounds like she doesn’t care about the environment, price of gas or her image. Why isn’t she driving a hybrid?
Know that mostly am preaching to the choir so will get off my soapbox now. And if you think things will change if you vote, take a note of West Virginia during the Democratic convention last time. We in WV had the majority vote for Hilary Clinton. Our electorates ignored that and put their support behind Obama during the Democratic convention. They will elect whoever the 1% wants. Look at the Bush election and what happened in FL where his brother was governor.
