Texas doesn’t lead the nation at jobs. Ultra-liberal States like Vermont & Massachusetts have and have had lower unemployment than Texas for a good while now.

Sorry, Rick, but you don’t speak for all Texans. I’m a Texan and I believe in American values like freedom, equality and the pursuit of happiness without the government sticking its nose in my or anybody else’s bedroom.

When the states make unjust and unconstitutional laws it is the duty of the Supreme Court to right the wrong–that’s what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they set the system up. The fact that you are opposed to that means that you have neither the most basic understanding of the Constitution nor any true patriotic spirit.

This idiot could not find his way to the water closet except by the smell. He is a prefect example of the far-right Republican base. It’s downright scary. These people are claiming they are for limited (small) government, but if there is something in their social agenda that needs to be ‘fixed’ by way of the government, then they would let the government trample over every right we have. They want the government to mandate our religion, our bodies, our sex-life and anything else necessary to fit their extreme view of the world. The Rick Perrys of the world are in the same class as the Taliban.

Sorry, but the figures quoted by K2K are bogus and misleading. Yes, Texas is second in GDP, which is where it falls based on population, but the per-capita GDP is 24th, which is really sad. It means that there are an enormous number of low paying jobs making up that number. Even Florida, the home of the low-paying service job is 20th. As for being larger than Russia. That is simply not true. The Russian GDP is 2 trillion dollars greater for 2011.

Why in the world would Rick Perry be following a court case about Sodomy?
First off he’s not a lawyer, which is a big plus and second off it’s not something average Americans are concerned about since they don’t engage in that activity.

We’ll skip the 57 states and corpse men. Thats old hat, and typical of the genius in chief. Lets talk about the Asian nation of Hawaii. After all, obama was born there, right? Can’t really expect him to know that Hawaii is part of the USA, and NOT part of Asia, now can we? You just cant resist your Pavlovian response to ABC’s silly gotcha story on Perry’s shortcomings, but when obama makes one stupid comment after another, you have nothing but excuses. And that shows who you guys really hold to higher standards.

It’s only a landmark decision by the SCOTUS, on a case in his state while he was governor (2003), with his state’s NAME in the case, on a subject he feels is so important that he made a widely ridiculed ad about it (gays in the military), talked about the decision it in his book “Fed Up!” published just one year ago, and it concerns the biggest civil rights issue of today, and something that the GOP loves to use as a wedge issue whenever possible to “fire up the base.” Can’t expect him to know that one!

Being Governor of Texas is not a particularly demanding job. The Lieutenant Governor does most of the heavy lifting; the Agriculture Commissioner and the three-member Texas Railroad Commission divvy up all the real power in the state.

Kinky Friedman (of Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jew Boys and former gubernatorial candidate) put it best in his campaign slogan: “Governor of Texas: How Hard Can it Be?”
