The Presidential Planner - Streamlining Federal Agencies

This morning President Obama will announce he is asking Congress for the authority to consolidate federal functions and shrink the size of government.

In East Room remarks, the president is expected to outline his plan to merge overlapping agencies, including the Department of Commerce, the U.S. Trade Representative and the Small Business Administration, among others.

This afternoon the president will attend a closed-to-press campaign event in Washington. Obama will also meet separately today with Treasury Secretary Geithner and Secretary of State Clinton.

Tonight, it's movie night at the White House. The president and first lady will host Tuskegee Airmen and the cast and crew of the movie "Red Tails" for a private screening at the White House.
