I wished there were a way independents, as well as democrats and republicans, could be in the same room debating public policies. As a voter in Iowa, I hope to bring the concept that we should, as Iowans, reach across the political caucus rooms. Can we create a third caucus room for independents and bipartisan others (Republicans and Democrats)?
I once heard a general once said, even if you want to install clean water systems, you must first ask the locals for input. I have read, if you want your teens to sign onto new house rules, you need to first ask for input. I have read that Canada had several town halls asking people for input, of how to help solve their debt.
In all three examples above, many were surprised of how strict the focus groups placed upon themselves.
I wished there were a third caucus room for independents and bipartisan People (Republicans and Democrats).
If we want to save our republic, I believe it will need to begin by all listening to each other and not yelling past each other. How can we listen to each other if the independents are not invited to the Iowa caucus. And all the others, both Democrats and Republicans) are in separate rooms. This is just an opinion of how I would like the Iowa caucus to go.
