Fine words from a District Court. Unfortunately, district court decisions are worth about the worth of the paper they are written on. This ruling has a long way to go before it becomes worth much more. But the language is persuasive, follows precedents already established. So if Obama gets re-elected and two new Supreme Court justices are appointed the ruling might actually become law.

This is a really bad weak for John Boehner, the GOP candidates running for President and the Republican members of Congress. DOMA is hopefully on its last legs and the brand of hate that candidates such as Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney try to peddle in an attempt to pander to bigots in their party is simply not going to fly going forward. Time to talk about “jobs, jobs, jobs”, boys and how you plan to produce them!
