SPARKS, Nev. – Mitt Romney said today’s jobs report is “good news,” but said President Obama has not helped to fix the economy.
“This recovery has been slower than it should have been, people have been suffering for longer than they should have had to suffer. Will it get better? I think it’ll get better. I don’t know how long it’s going to take,” Romney said during a business roundtable held at the Western Nevada Supply Company outside Reno.
“We got good news this morning on job creation in January. I hope that continues, we get people back to work,” he said, speaking at the roundtable that included 14 local business leaders, all of whom were men. The participants in the roundtable shared their stories of being effected by the downturn in the economy.
A campaign aide later told ABC News that female business owners were invited to attend the roundtable but were unable to.
“That is the antidote, by the way, to falling home prices, is people going back to work, being able to buy homes,” he said. “It’s the antidote to what’s going on right here in this supply business. If people have more jobs and can go to work, why, they’re able to buy more things buy a home or remodel their home, put people back to work. That is going to happen.”
“But this president has not helped the process. He’s hurt it,” said Romney. “Sometimes I got the impression that speaking to you that you don’t think you have a friend in Washington. And I can assure you that if I’m the president, I will see what you do as being a very good thing. A patriotic and good thing, which is employ people and putting them to work.”

Romney is a joke. Have his compatriots in this “do nothing ” House helped , or maybe he thinks his fellow business magnates are not sitting on record profits, drawing big salaries while middle class and the “very poor” are going down the tubes.

iI was never going to vote for Romney but for a while I thought he was ok for a Republican. He has turned out to be a guy that the more you see, or listen to him the, more you hate him!

Where is Barb?
She has been on here since last January screaming her head off of where are the jobs. Well Barb, it looks like Boehner didn’t let you down after all. Now, throw some more democrats out of congress and we can really improve this country!
Oh and Barb, how do you like your crow? Grilled, boiled, fried, baked or just plain cold?

Give me a break. Anyone who believes Romney’s statement that he is “going to stop China from stealing our jobs” has rocks for brains. Large corporations are sending jobs overseas for tax reasons and to cut overhead to a bare minimum. Pray tell how is Mr. Romney going to get his ‘party donors’ to change their tune and keep jobs in the US? I think its the Republicans who haven’t helped the job front, by catering to the wealthy and large corporations with tax breaks that do NOTHING towards creating jobs in this country.

John Boehner is useless. He’s done absolutely nothing to help this economy. He’s let the tea party republicans run his agenda. The Speaker is supposed to be someone who can bring all sides together to get things done. He is scared to death of the tea party.
He’s raised 9 million dollars in the 8th district in Ohio. There’s not even a democratic opponent yet. He’ll need every penny if he wants to be re-elected. His whole agenda id defeating the President.
Nancy Pelosi has more toughness in her little finger than this guy has had his whole life.

So, does this mean that if Romney was President, hope it never happens, and the Jobs Report was good, he would in no claim that he deserved credit for it? I think not, he would be tooting his horn to kingdom come. So yea Obama!!!

The sentence needs a comma after “Washington” and “all ” to be replaced by “All ” in order to fix it Paulie. It is likely an editorial misjudgement of Mr. Romney’s rather long-winded sentence / phrase structure IMHO . But you’re right of course as well .

john boehner has done more in half a term than pelosi has done in a lifetime. look how many jobs the republican house has created and mostly in the private sector. when the democrats controlled the house nothing happened other than healthscare. jobs have been created under the republican house. they taught obama how to create a job….its called get out of the way and let the private sector thrive.

Isnt it funny that the job picture is starting to brighten up in an election year? No one ever gives it a thought that the unemployment rate dropped because some of the recipients of unemployment checks now ran out of them.

So, if the private sector is responsible for this mysterious jobs growth, are we to believe that the private sector is responsible for the millions of jobs lost in the Bush years?
