Encouraging kids to think of science as fun is what should be done early on, as with reading, math and history if you are going to keep them engaged and learning.
We should be hiring more people with theatre arts backgrounds to be teachers for the same reason. A few year of boring teachers can turn the brightest children off to learning.

Marshmallow is not spelled with an “e”. A similar honey sweetened candy was made by ancient Egyptians using sap from the Marsh Mallow plant, Althaea officinalis.
