Yeah Karl, we were way better off when we were losing 8.5 million jobs under the last Republican president than gaining 4 million jobs under the current Democratic president. Sure, we understand.

It’s so cool sticking taxpayers with $80K in fuel charges to go around the country telling taxpayers about “his administration’s efforts to reduce the nation’s use of gasoline.” Bush would have been crucified by the media for doing the same thing. Hypocrite much?

The working-age population went from 234,739,000 in January 2009 when Obama took office to 242,435,000 in February of this year. That’s 7.696 million more working-age people since Obama took office. Obama’s economic policies managed to employ about 1/3rd of them, leaving the other 2/3rds jobless. This is why the labor participation rate went from 59.8% when he took office to 58.0% last month. Simply put the jobs picture when adjusted for the number of working-age people, which is all that matters to you or anyone else, is worse now than it was when Obama took office — materially so with 5,100,000 of the new entrants to the workforce being without a job.

Obama is slated to fly out this Wednesday to camera-ready podiums in Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Colorado, from where he’ll tout his administration’s efforts to reduce the nation’s use of gasoline.

His 5,000-mile trip will consume roughly 25,000 gallons of jet fuel, according to Boeing.

That adds up to a fuel bill of $80,000, assuming the Air Force buys jet fuel at the cheapest cost, now estimated at $3.20 a gallon by the U.S. Energy Administration. The retail price for jet-fuel at local airports is just over $6 a gallon, including taxes.

Let me tell you what the studies show about their profits: 41% of them are not making a profit at all, 70% have lost significant cash reserves, 46 have moved operations away from the Gulf, and 82% of business owners have lost personal savings as a result of this slow down. The top 1% has done much better under Obama than under Bush (or any other president). The working poor and middle class have done worse. Especially minorities, who have done much worse.

Obama has folks forgetting that our elected officials are there to do our bidding, not the other way around.
