Why are some of you having a fit about Romney and his sons not being in the military, just how long did OBAMA serve in our military???

And to the one that said that since Romney didn’t have military experience, they were going with the one who had military experience, DUH! Guess you aren’t voting!!

How long has thi young lady been in the service ?it not his fault its the ones put in charge of of training her .ever time something goes wrong the president had to have done this .I didnt see any one in george w bush face saying this and he started the DAM WAR that every one seems to think is over .hum really

Please stop acting like this is new to anyone. She chose that job and if she didn’t want the responsibility of serving her country then she should have chose another job. Get over it because it is a part of life. Yes, we know the kids miss there parents but she is not the only one who has to leave her kids behind. My neice left a 6 month old baby behind. We as family pulled together and made sure that her daughter was taking care of. So, don’t blame it on Obama because this has been going on for years. He should be sleeping perfectly. If the shoe was on the other foot how would you like to be critcize for everything. The same way Bush slept at night is the same way Obama will continue to sleep. As for the mother in the military who has a problem with leaving her kids behind she need to find herself a new career. But guess what she won’t because she love the many benefits she is receiving. Life goes on and she need to man up or find her a new job. She is not the only mother that deployed away from their kids.

This is nothing more than 3rd rate reporting for Emily Friedman. As a reporter its not enough to regurgitate sound bites from candidates and politicians, but filter out and summarize the context of their statements. Mrs Friedmans selections and parsing of Romney comments regarding a statement from a questioner tells me nothing of substance to National Security or Foreign Policy positions. No juxtaposing of Obamas current Military decisions to relevant comments of what Romney will do differently . This piece is nothing more than an emotional tug on ill informed readers about an uncorroborated hear say that is at best misleading with limited context of an anonymous questioner as the central theme to Mrs Friedmans reporting.

Robin should do a check of Mitt’s birthdate against the numbers drawn for his year. Mine was 298 but I was already in the Army. I am also glad to hear from Wendilynn that Korean theater is getting the info down to the troops. As several others have stated- every soldier, sailor, and airman needs to know their mission. As a squad leader, I made sure my guys knew the complete mission as I did. Many times I went back to my Plt Ldr with questions that my guys asked me.
A lot of us questioned the purpose for VietNam but still served. Grenada and Panama were also a question until the Greenlight. The Rules of Engagement suck as it gets our guys killed before they can fire on “Known” Opforces. Right now in Afghanistan, They must exhibit a clear hostile intent by firing or bombing our guys first.
For the Record, a lot of married Mormans were drafted or joined in VeitNam era. Many (LDS) Mormans still serve in the Armed Forces. As for WMDs, Carter sold Iraq many of them right after our Iranian embassey fell. I know this as I hauled several loads from Middletown, Iowa bound for Iraq via a Texas port. Sadam used some of those weapons on the Kurds that caused massive blistering of the skin and lungs. The US had our own records to show he had them but did not want the public to scream if Sadam used nerve agents against our sons and daughters.

nothing new about obama making America’s enemies happy………….the real Americans just dont understand why the “supposedly loyal” democrats are on board with obama’s actions

America understands the deal with 30% that are the core of the obama mob of America haters…………America just does not understand the deal with the lieberman/nelson/miller/truman faction still supporting anyone who supports America’s enemies

When Obama campaigned in 2008, he called Afghanistan the good war but that was a political ploy to criticize Bush on Iraq. Now his inaction and silence reveal his disengagement. When he does act, it is in a desultory manner. He appears not to care about mission there at all but just how to manage the politics of the situation. Here, on the home front we are faced with a false front, that there is no war at all. I thank heaven that none of our children are over there, and I pray for the unfortunate others.

Obama’s maternal great-uncle served in the Army during WW II… that’s about as much as he knows of the military.
