Reading the actual language of the bill will allay the fears of those who have heard the untrue propaganda pushed by the insurance industry”—–You are out of touch and a doubt very much you “read” the actual bill, but the propaganda talking points. The bill cuts social security and medicaid benefits for the elderly. The bill penalizes financially those who don’t or can’t buy insurance. The bill exempts congress, the senate, the president, and prefered constituents with ask for excemptions and are approved by the current administration (interesting to point out here that mostly public unions -who are already compensated by the taxpayer and for some reason a large amount of small businesses in Nancy Pelosi’s voting district (including some resturants?????). All this information is out there if you look for it, your a librarian, do the research.

I had to laugh when I read this. Talk about profiling and stereotypical language. YOu, YOU, YOU, or just like YOU, lol, or then again maybe not. What I found most intersting was reading the story on the back page about Obama’s mother. It clearly states that she was miss diagnosed in Indonesia ( a centralized socilistic health care system) and had to leave the country (to go to the US’s better health care system) and have her appendix removed, where she was found to have cervical cancer (In the US privatized system). As a follow-up Indonesia is going away from a centralized system and by 2014 will be decentralizing healthcare to the states/regions to get away from the high costs and lack of quality service. Who approves this stuff?

Hmmmm. I guess I just don’t know what’s actually “good” for me then. Ever since the government “fixed” my healthcare, my cost has been going up — I now have a $4500 deductible ($0 before) and my son’s medicine that used to have a $25 copay costs me $100.

You’ve been so kind, Mr. President. Why don’t you just relax now? It’s all so much better now that I won’t have to pay for birth control.

Instead of keeping that million dollars from Mahers he should buy birth control pills and give them out. Women are not as dump as the President thinks…

And women still to this day make less than men, so where is the change. Political theater.
LIBRARIAN53: so this new law will take over $500 million from Medicare and another $300 million from who knows who, to fund the new healthcare Insurance exchanges. Insurance for the rest of us already increased substantially so how much more do we have to pay untill the employers tell us they are not offering insurance anymore. Oh that’s right that’s what Pres.Obama and the democrats want.

The Affordable Care Act is smart medicine for all of us. By making preventative care covered by insurance, more people will get check-ups that will catch medical problems early, making the outcomes better for the patient and the cost to fix the problem much lower than if the problem remained undiagnosed longer. Those cost savings are good for all of us who pay premiums. Even those on Medicare can now get a free annual physical now.
There are many logical solutions like this in the Affordable Care Act. It is about looking at the big picture as to how to help people manage their health better than ever while keeping costs down at the same time.
Reading the actual language of the bill will allay the fears of those who have heard the untrue propaganda pushed by the insurance industry. Remember that the insurance industry isn’t spending many millions to fight the Affordable Care Act because they care about you!

I am a woman, a grandmother have daughters – from Texas and I do not support Obama and do not support his healthcare bill. Since when did he care about women? He wants to win the election. Surely after his 4 yrs, you do not buy into what he says? What has he done for you lately? Think about it. Red herring

There’s an old jazz song from the 20′s: “If Momma Ain’t Happy, Ain’t Nobody Happy”. Ho whoever w on God’s green earth do the Republicans think they can win the general election without any votes from women? whoever Santorum didn’t turn off, Gingrich did, with his “Open Marriage” (how’s that for an oxymoron). Then Rush, who is widely seen as the mouthpiece of the GOP, grossed out the rest of the women in this country. The four remaining contenders for the GOP nomination are dead men walking. I’ve been following presidential elections for 57 years (as a Republican from Eisenhower through McCain), and this is the worst run campaign I have ever seen. I expect a landslide loss for the GOP that will be worse than Barry Goldwater’s in the mid 60′s. If the GOP doesn’t change its constituency back to a group of right/conservative leaning centrists, it will be a rump party by 2013.

I’m enjoying watching women walk away from the Republican party in droves. You let the cat out of the bag and everyone saw it.

It’s an absolutely excellent approach to have birth control as part of covered services under the new health care act – it’s going to cut down on the exorbitant costs of unwanted pregnancies – both those carried through to term and those not.
