raggmop…if it were true i would agree but there a different rates for capital gains then ordinary income. capital gains come from money thats been previously taxed and reinvested. i would also agree that we all pay the same rate of tax but 49.5% pay zero federal income tax. so if we all had to pay the same rate…the 49.5%ers would pay tax and they wouldnt stand for it. flat tax is great but it is regressive to the poor. be careful what one asks for. i agree with you that everyone who earns income should pay tax…like i said 49.5% dont because of there zero rate bracket.

The oil companies are running commercials every ten minutes touting how much oil we have (they know we don’t and how expensive it is to drill here) and if we only reduce regulation all our energy problems are over. They talk about jobs they can’t provide. This is all to keep us dependent on oil and ensure their record profits for another 20 years.

They think Americans are stupid and they can sell us anything.

And Sandy has a point. Do you realize that most of the tax breaks that Romney has proposed directly benefit the wealthy? Example, a decrease in the capital gains tax. Unless you have 10s of millions you won’t recognize a profit worth declaring. And because they are profits from stock, real estate, other investments, we should tax them less? (Granted, of course, for some skyrocketing stock.) How about the interest earned on off shore accounts, if you declare them?

Romney is wanting to make easier for the wealthy to make and hoard money. There is no such thing as trickle down.

What’s so bad about Romney paying the same rate as most of us do? If you pay 28% of your income, why shouldn’t Romney? We are letting Romney pay 15%.

And this goes to the tax code. Everything that everybody earns in income should be taxed at the same rate.

We must have some regulations. Left unchecked greed will destroy us all.

Greed from the motgage companies (both crooked and straight), greed from Wall Street, greed from bankers, etc. People need to be aware and read but rules are required if you want to participate in business.

Back in the 1920′s one of the enablers of the depression was no regulations. Bankers & real estate was a free for all. People got caught in the trap and things went downhill fast.

There has to be some regulations. Not too much but not too little. We need protection from greedy and unethical business people who believe they can pull a fast one and get away with it.

Romney’s economic plan.
It’s really trickle up. You take from the poor and middle class, you fire teachers, police and firemen,bust unions ,raise taxes on the hard working people and repossess their homes and…. then you trickle the money UP to the rich. The rich then out-source jobs and make money trading paper on wall street. The stock market is booming but where are the jobs these rich people are creating?

I agree, the president should set an example. The Chevy Volt motorcade is a good idea. The President hasn’t taken as many vacations as other Presidents. Jimmy Carter tried by walking to his inaugural, we all know how that went.

I as far as I’m concerned he’s the only game in town. At least he’s out there talking about the issues, whether you agree with him or not. I can’t criticize the republican candidate’s proposals because I haven’t seen any.

I honestly don’t know what any of them would do to lower costs and improve our health care system. They talk tough about Syria and Iran, then say they would give sanctions a chance to work and use force as a last resort. Exactly what President Obama has said.

I think Americans are open to new ideas; the problem is these candidates haven’t shown us any yet. They seem afraid to go on the record with a proposal. After all, that would give the DNC and the President a chance to criticize, they can’t afford that.

tm what we have now has no plan either and the only piece of legislation is obamacare which may go down. i will listen to both candidates when the time comes.i truly wish our president the best of luck but he should work and lead by example instead of doing what he has been doing. obama could acheived change if he chose to walk the walk.

preaching from atop while the peasants eat crumbs is what i have seen so far. if i were president i would lead by example. he has not. why isnt the motorcade complrised of chevy volts?when you have no money why so many vacations? when people are poor and you tell us not to go to mexico you send your kids there? he has had oppurtunity but has instead chosen to act like the rest of the elites…do as i say not as i do.

Wouldn’t it be shocking if we saw a headline “Romney Proposes a New and Better Health Care Plan” or “Romney Pushes His Tax Reform Plan”

Every Romney headline has President Obama in it. Mitt has no plan and it’s very obvious to the American people.
