I think it's so hypocritical to, on one hand, laud the United States as a country where you can make it if you try, and on the other hand condemn someone who has. I am 59 years old, and have never once heard someone with a moderate or low income say that we needed to redistribute the wealth in this country! That's the reason people want to come to this nation. To make it. Why would you be jealous if they did? And why would someone like Biden criticize him for it? No, that came directly from the Obama Administration. Sewing strife has been a political tool for centuries. Obama may not be as rich as Romney, but he certainly has made rubbing shoulders with the absolute richest as one of his policies. I don't see Romney holding private dinners for Warren Buffett, the late Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Facebook mogul, Zuckerberg, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, and let us not forget the Lakers twice a month. All on taxpayer dollars! And if he's feeling generous, he'll allow some network to broadcast the event. I can't wait for Obama's self-serving reality show to come to end in November. Maybe then we can get back to running this country, and not Obama's social calendar.
At least Romney made his money honestly and pays the taxes required of him - unlike the Democrats who have a propensity for hiding $90,000. in their freezers. Talk about ill-gotten gain. No plans to pay taxes on that amount, eh? It's Congress that has set the rules on less taxes for the rich, not Romney.

Dan, I'm so glad to know that 'People don’t automatically disqualify them' because of assets. I'm sure Romney's team will be happy to know that also. Thanks for the info!

"However, Republicans said the same hogwash about Bush as they’re saying about Romney. He was another rich man’s son supposed to bring a good “business” sense to Washington and like Romney he’d been a governor." - Dan

Bush went bad when he went RINO and supported Demo ideas like everyone should be able to buy a house and unpaid for Medicare Part D.
Romney has the tendency to be RINO also but now there's the Tea Party to keep him in check.

Although Mittens = Bama Lite
Bama Lite is better then Obama

2012 Vote ABO,
12 Years of Incompetent Presidents is enough.

How is it possible that there are people who believe a person successfully creating assets in his or her life is automatically disqualified from the presidency of the United States?

People don't automatically disqualify them.

However, Republicans said the same hogwash about Bush as they're saying about Romney. He was another rich man’s son supposed to bring a good “business” sense to Washington and like Romney he’d been a governor. The results? Gross over spending, deficit after deficit, huge debt to China, and a massive economic collapse.

I’ll take the steady progress and accomplishments of President Obama over the arrogant boasting and hollow promises of the Republicans any day. We’re not falling for the same old Republican shtick again.

How is it possible that there are people who believe a person successfully creating assets in his or her life is automatically disqualified from the presidency of the United States? Truthfully, I find it hard to imagine a pauper running this country with any success. In fact, I believe it is time to see how a business oriented leader handles a faltering economy. I put trust in the abilities of people who manage to weather the storms of life with acumen, survive with grace, and have an ability to see beyond self to preside admirably over communities. Flamboyancy and oracle may create rabble rousing, but if one has not proven himself or herself to be successful in life’s pursuits, it is doubtful that he or she can be relied upon to lead our country in these trying times. Romney has the underlying structure and needed experience of an excellent leader. All the vileness of campaign rhetoric doesn’t change it.

Your right, that’s why they were called the greatest generation.

I agree they were the greatest generation but don't fool yourself into thinking that everyone had it made. They didn't, many lived in substandard housing and were just plain dirt poor who migrated to industrial areas to be able to survive. It wasn't until the wealthy who had less of their money taxed became job creators and the country took off. There are sentimental reasons why I admire the 50's but the standard of living-for most, wasn't that great and if you were of minority , including American Indian heritage it plain sucked.

There is a vast majority of the very wealthy who had nothing to start with but a dream and a strong work ethic. They gave and still give back. Today we have people that will whine because someone got a bigger ice cream than they think that person deserved. Piptiful, envious society.

Nonsense. Every step in a greener direction whether less pesticides, increased gas mileage, more solar energy, more efficient appliances, more efficient gas-powered electricity, wind farms - all of these are excellent for the future and our children.

"The reason our green companies are having so much trouble is because China is willing to subsidize their industry with the equivalent of billions of dollars." - BainMan

Maybe, but what about the fact that the New and Improved Bama Green Energy can only produce about 1.37% of what the country needs.
