Romney pays a lower effective rate because he donates more to charity. This is also why Obama’s rate seems as low as it is. Romney typically donates 20-30% of his income yearly. Now ask yourself where all of this charity money comes from when someone that makes a million/year doesn’t receive incentive to donate. Sure plenty of people will continue to do so, but removing this deduction for people that pay over 70% of charitable contributions seems a bit backwards. It’s a power grab for the government. They want to have control of the money and see how it is distributed. Now if only the government could run anything efficiently that wouldn’t be such a problem.

Obama saved GM and saved 1 million jobs with it. Reality check: when GM was going to go bankrupt, it only had 91,000 people working for it. If my math is correct, that’s 909,000 less than a million. And he gave GM $51 BILLION (people, grasp the concept already…BILLIONS) and in May of 2012 GM was only worth $34 BILLION. You do the math….fiscally responsible, no budget (required by law) in 3 yrs even when he owned the house and senate, lies about Benghazi, lied about halving the deficit by the end of his 1st term, lied about closing Gitmo, lies, lies, lies.

How could Obama’s effective tax rate possibly be less than his secretary’s? He’s in a higher tax bracket and doesn’t have that much income subject to the 15% capital gain rate. I’ll tell you how. It’s because you aren’t calculating effective tax rate correctly. Effective tax rate = total tax / taxable income. You’re calcuating it as total tax / adjusted gross income. If you calculate it correctly, Obama’s effective tax rate is 32.7% which has to be higher than his secretary’s as her marginal rate is probably 25%. I know you’re in the tank for Obama, but please be honest in your reporting.

Jack Smith, I, too, like your ideas. I was floored to find out I get to write a check to the IRS, even with bonuses taxed at 50 percent. We made significantly less than Obama did, paid more (in dollars and as a percentage) and had to pay for our own mortgage, health care and living expenses. We’re straight W-2 wage earners so we don’t get to take advantage of all the lying, loophole magic. Yes, this guy’s no better than the last, and every clown in Congress needs to go.

On the memo line, write “For Debt Reduction.” That way, the President won’t be able to spend it for his pet “investments.”

BASEROKS…Factually incorrect. Governor Romney will pay far more in taxes than President Omaba and his secretary, COMBINED. It is the rate that is lower. You are also wrong about “floating that money.” When he filed his extension, he had to pay estimated taxes. Even if the Buffett Rule was passed, the President would pay a lower rate than his secretary. By the President’s own admission, he would still be less tax than he feels is right. The solution would be to write a check to the Treasury to reduce the deficit, in any amount he deems “fair.” I’ll be waiting to see his cancelled check.

Why is the report so biased not only did Romney pay less than Obama and his secretary but he filed for an extension effectively floating that money and witholding the info for 6 months or in other words till right before the nov elections. Also how can you call Obama a hypocryte when he makes less than a million you all should look at the guy earning 20+ million a year and not just this year, here’s the pun of the joke.. “Why did the rich capitalist run for president while proposing a ryan capitalist Darwinian tax cut”so he and his friends pay less taxes

USA8888…Name calling is one thing. You’re really good at that – guess practice really does make perfect. But be careful with the libel. The Swiss government cooperates with the US. If Governor Romney had a Swiss bank account, the US government would know about it. I hope your ip address is well protected, because if I was the governor, I would come after you. I’m certain Governor Romney follows current tax law, as does the President with his foreign earnings, charitable contributions,and gifts to his children.
