First: unprecidented, extrodinary step to of over turning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress.
The supreme court over turning laws enacted by congress and president have been over turned before so this is NOT unprecidented! does any one remember the Civil Rights Movement in which all branches supported seperate but equal until supreme court justice overrulled?? Also the SENATE is not elected by the people, they are elected by representative of the state legislatures office who are voted in by the people (THIS IS A REPUBLIC SYSTEM NOT DEMOCRATIC!!!)
Second: mechanism for pre-exsisting health conditions can be mediated if not corrected with dietary measures. Make pink slim and high fructose corn syrup illegal instead of not having healthcare Mr. President. Fight the source and not the symptom!!!!!
Third: Justices are elected by THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND CONFIRMED BY THE SENATE!!! i think this is valid enough judgement to ensure these justices KNOW what they are talking about!
Fourth: Judicial activism??? really?? since when has the courts actually " (re)interperate text of the contitution and laws in order to serve the judges' own visions reguarding the needs of contemporary society" (definitions.uslegal.com)?? oh yes... again before the civil rights movement!
It seems to me that Mr. Obama may trying to re write the constitution by taking away the judical branch's power of checks and balances! The people brought this to the court, the court didnt just pick this up and decide to rule on it Mr. President. Please go back and take an AMERICN GOVERNMENT CLASS!

"I still don’t get it – why are not two of the best options to lower health care cost not included in the bill – buy insurance accross state lines and tort reform?" - jamescbuilder

Because those two ideas don't forward the Sociallist agenda.

Not a single national poll has Romney (or any other Republican candidate) beating President Obama. The country is not siding with the right wing fringe, nor their Republican party.

If you're so sure the GOP won't win and everyone is so sick of them, why are you wasting so much of your time posting your comments? In your view they'll lose, so what's the point of obsessing about it? Don't you have anything more productive to do like enjoying the magical hope and change that Obama brought you?

Actually I'm having a great time not defending President Obama as much as attacking all the totally bogus Republican claims and proposals....like austerity, which has failed miserably wherever it's been attempted, the joke Ryan Budget which will actually explode the debt with huge tax giveaways and nothing but fairytales on how it will generate revenue, the revival of the social flat-earth offensive which is causing women everywhere to abandon ship from the Republican Party in droves. The Republicans can't shoot themselves in the feet any faster.

What is Romney’s policy towards Afghanistan? Towards Iran?

We know the Republican record with North Korea – nuclear weaspons tested on Bush’s watch.

We know the Republican record on Iran – an underground nuclear facility and nuclear materials produced on Bush's watch.

You have a paycheck written from the personal bank account of oBama? Didn't think so, therefore you work for us, the taxpayer, and we can see that we are paying to spend all day defending the failed policies of oBama.

POSTED BY: ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM | APRIL 2, 2012, 8:09 PM 8:09 PM

The right wing as usual don’t care what the CBO, financial institutions, nonpartisan organizations, professional economists say. The right wing just knows better. God could come down and tell them stimulus did exactly what it was supposed to do and the constipated minds of the right wing robots would blather out their rote negativity. It’s the ideological version of a brain dead turkey gobbling away in its stupor.
