Therefore, my question again is, what has qualification to do with being gay? How does being gay related to his qualification? Does being gay enhance or diminish his qualifications, or is being gay a part of what qualifies him for the job? Why should his sexuality even be mentioned in the same sentence that talks about his qualification? Totally impertinent, if you ask me. For ABC, it seems the bar for journalistic standard is quite low.

I can’t see how anyone has a problem with this. Just because he’s gay doesn’t mean he does not have conservative views. If you don’t think you have fellow gay employees you’re wrong. The guys worked for Bush for Christ’s sake, relax people this is non-news and just a attempt by the media to stir something up.

This article needs a lot of work. You present Romney as moderate on gay rights but fail to mention that through his actions he’s one of the most extreme of the GOP field. He gave $10,000 in 2008 to the National Organization for Marriage and pledged to support an _Amendment to the Constitution_ making gays second class citizens. It’s ridiculous to present Romney as anything but an full on adversary of gay rights, but here you are actually trying to position him as somewhere in the same universe as President Obama??

It is a good thing that Romney hired him based on his qualifications, and din’t discard him based on his sexual orientation. However, we can’t forget that Romney signed the hateful pledge put out by the misnamed “National Organization for Marriage”. The pledge, among other things says that he would support a constitutional amendment banning marriage equality on a Federal level. That would go well beyond the current “defense of marriage act” that is likely to be overturned. Who really knows what Romney thinks? His positions change every 15 minutes.
