this President just made history and changed the ‘whole landscape’ on this topic. Eventually…sooner probably than later…gay people will get ‘rights’ just like women and African Americans did before them. Isn’t it sad that in a ‘free nation that honors freedom and liberty above everything’ – that every one of those groups had to fight so hard for them?

Wow so many things incomplete about this. First when did “gays” not have a right to vote or own property? Were they ever treated or sold as property by law in the USA? Denied jobs, eating in restaurants or directed in humiliating ways about using public amenities by law? Hyperbole much?? Making history usually involves more than just rhetoric. The President gave lip service but what has he actually done? Repeal DODT, refuse for the government to fund it’s own policies DOMA what policies is he pushing for gay marriage? What has his party actually done? Is there a bill in congress for legalization of gay marriage? If so sincere then why does the VP have to apologize? Why are the PRes’s comments the exact same on this issue as he made in 2007? Is the only difference his job because the charade of a personal evolution really has no merit when it comes to the gay marriage issue perhaps his evolution was about how much going public would affect his reelection and when his waffle was hurting him too much he made his dtatement. Looked very week not history making leadership.

Let’s look at it in the timeline of events:

1. Obama plans $15 million dollar fundraiser in George Clooney’s mansion in gay-marriage lovin-hollywood
2. Biden appears on a television interview stating how “comfortable” he is with same sex marriage
3. Obama waltzes in on another television interview saying “biden got ahead of himself, but . . . since we’re on the topic . . . ”
5. Obama flies directly to hollywood to collect his $15 million as a “conquering hero” to gay marriage lovin hollywood.

It doesn’t get any more transparent. But then after all, Obama did say he wanted his administration to be transparent didn’t he?

Oh, yeah right. This whole thing was staged. Biden was a poor actor in that interview too. Just watch it again in the context of it being staged as a prologue to Obama’s “historic” announcement and you’ll see Biden’s far too eager enthusiasm of gay marriage which he would have never expressed that way if it weren’t staged.

It was planned so that if a backlash occurs, Obama, the blamer-in-chief, could blame Biden for opening his big mouth and slip away scot free from any political repurcussions. Meanwhile, foot-in-his-mouth-Biden would be the natural scapegoat, and the willing lapdog media would all nod their heads eagerly, tripping over themselves to be the first to report that it was Biden’s gaffes that hurt their favorite liberal-agenda president.

President Obama Kudos. He stands for all minorities and the dignity of life. I think this was a bold step that this country should have taken,. Europe has always been more progressive than the US on human rights and this is a proud moment not because only the gay comments but the first time a president has stood up against bullies, discrimination and the right to access this country by all the people not just a few cruel few. I was on the fence this election and now I see a true leader stnding up for what he truly believes. Joe Biden owed no apology as everyone should have stood up and not hid the cruel bullying going on by a few in this country. A majority of the country supports this. Thank You Democratic Party for including all the people not a few with antiquated views.
