Wow, reading these right wing posts are depressing. Republicans have always run up the deficit. If you look at what Regan, Bush1 and Bush2 have done is spend wildly then blame it on the democrats. Look at the graphs by president for federal deficit. It clearly indicates that the policies of the right have bankrupted the country. Clinton came in and turned it around only for Bush2 to completely ruin everything. Obama has had to spend in order to keep the economy from falling off a cliff. Government growth has never been slower and Obama is doing his best to decrease the deficit but not by sacrificing the country going into recession.

Mark Twain said there are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and damn statistical lies. I believe the recent beltway chatter falls into the latter category.

Let's just deal with the raw facts, provided by the US Treasury.

According to the US Treasury, this is what was borrowed in the past 6 years to cover deficit spending:

Year Ending_____________ $ Annual deficit
December 31, 2007_________ 548.9 Billion
December 31, 2008_______ 1,470.6 Trillion
December 31, 2009________ 1,611.5 Trillion
December 31, 2010________ 1,713.8 Trillion
December 30, 2011________ 1,197.7 Trillion
Jan to May, 2012 ______ _____547.7 Billion

Deficit total: 2007 to present____$7.090 'Trillion

WHERE'S WALDO? Where did the $7,090 Trillion go?

When George Bush took office the debt was $5.943 Trillion.

Next question, class.

You can't expect Obama to fix the Republican damage in one term while being blockedDC
at every turn by Republicans. Get rid of all of the Republicans in the House and Senate.
Financial Disasters Caused by Bush/Chaney and GOP:
1. AIG bankruptcy – September 2008 - $1 trillion is losses.
2. WorldComm – June 2002 - $103.9 billion in debt.
3. Sprint laid off more than 17,000 employees in 2003.
4. Sprint lost over 95% of the value in their stock between 1999 and 2003.
5. ENRON – October 2001 - $11 billion.
6. Lehman Brothers - September 13, 2008 - $700 billion in debt.
7. Bear Stearns collapse.
8. Merrill Lynch collapse.
9. Collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
10. Near fatal collapse of the GM and Chrysler.
11. Housing collapse
12. Westar collapse – Western Resources – Kansas Utility –2006.
13. Aquila – Missouri Utility Co. – Collapse – billions lost.
14. 55,000 manufacturing companies closed.
15. Illegal 10 year war that has cost $5 trillion dollars.
16. 6,000 point drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
17. 770 point drop in the Dow in one day.
18. Non-regulation of derivatives, credit default swaps, and CDO’s.
19. 2002 - Tyco collapse – 240,000 employees fired – Top exec’s in prison for 30 years.
20. Sky high utility rates for people in California thanks to ENRON.
21. Washington Mutual Bankrupcy - 2008 - $327 billion.
22. Thornberg Mortgage – 2009 - $37 billion.
23. Pacific Gas and Electric – 2001 - $36 billion.
24. Bush has the lowest approval rating in history at 22% at the end of his term.
And who Financed his Iraq War – China. And our Sons/Daughters will be paying in back

"Romney will be better, but will he be better enough to make a difference? I hope so, but who knows?"

Romney will at least remove the hyper-partisan insanity that now inhabits the White House and return it to the far-left fringe in places like DailyKos, HuffPo, and MSNBC where it belongs.

Obama ran for office condemning Bush for running up the debt, and it was a fair charge, and an important one. In his first year in office, Obama said his huge deficit wasn't his fault, and it was a fair defense. But Obama then pledged to halve the deficit in his first term; a pledge he has obviously broken. And Obama has done nothing to address the structural deficit; in fact he's made it substantially worse. At this point it's undeniable that Bush and Obama have each been fiscally irresponsible to a grotesque degree, and America has been catastrophically abused by both political parties. Obama must go, because he's going to bury us. Romney will be better, but will he be better enough to make a difference? I hope so, but who knows?

The WSJ report, which has received widespread support by actual fact-checkers, says it is not fact.

Somebody wake this guy up, he is in la la land. No one believes one word of the BS, except the ones that work for the government, unions and people getting a big check from the government (taxpayers) that want to keep their sugar daddy.

$6 million dollar grant to the University of Chicago in which both Obamas and Valerie Jarrett have ties. The Catholic Churches suing Obama, 9th circuit court spending spree, Fast & Furious, GSA, Jon Corzine still bundling for the Obamas and no charges against him, etc. WHERE ARE YOU NEWS MEDIA!

Those wars of Ws, big expenses, huge expenses,.... many left over programs Obama inherited , still causing lots of debt. He seems frugal but we ALL have to spend some to stimulate economy, I'm not even an econ expert, we just do need to spend some --- or things will never get/stay going, just the facts folks,

Why doesn't he just throw in the towel now? Can't you people see that he is just prolonging the inevitable? Everyone is so sick and tired of him, he is just not qualified to be the President of the United States; he never was, never will be. He is an actor, he gives a great rehearsed speech, just like the people from Hollywood that adore him, because that is all they know and care about; it's not about the future; it's only about today. Please people, be realistic, care about the future of our country and our young people and what lies ahead for them. Please vote him out in November.
