Even if Ryan is not chosen (which I cannot see at all - because of his stark anti-middle class budget plan) that 'plan' will be used extensively against Romney and whoever is chosen, by the President';s campaign. AND IT SHOULD BE. If the middle class wants a future for their children and grandchildren they better not vote GOP. It is that simple. Instead they need to send the GOP a message about stopping the obstruction of fair taxes and job growth. But when their 'base' doesn't even know who Grover Norquist is....how can that happen? And notice I didn't even (LOL)...because it is NOT funny.

The problem is not our government. It's the best in the world and the founders had enough sense to make it flexible so it could evolve over time.

The problem is the greedy business community and special interest groups who have corrupted our politicians to the extent that most Americans are ignored. Most Americans are not rich, yet we are represented by rich greedy men who want to get richer and more powerful.

The solution is to get the money out of politics. Congressmen should be held to the same standards as judges or jurors. If they take any money for their political benefit or personal benefit they should have to recues themselves from voting on the bill, if not face jail time.

I would LOVE to see Paul Ryan on the ticket! The guy who wants to double student loan interest rates, the guy who wants to do away with medicare and social security. PLEASE, Romney! Please be stupid enough to choose Ryan. Obama will win by a landslide!

What is really disturbing is that most Americans do not even care about US history to realize that we have been in much dire circumstances before, that we've had worse and more corrupted POTUS's and administrations before, that we've had sitting administration cabinet officials go to jail because of oil and their corrupt schemes. Does anybody realize that in the late 40's the US debt was approx 120% of GDP? That is about $40 trillion in today's dollars. Does anybody realize that that the lack of regulations, and the removal of what regulations that were in place, preceeded the Great Depression? Does anybody realize that Grant's administration is considered the most corrupt? Does anybody realize that we had a sitting POTUS order the US military to fire on WWI vets and their families on US soil? The interstate highway project was steep in controversy, Eisenhower had a heck of a time getting it to pass - and if it didn't where would we be now?

We can do better, no doubt. But to ignore the past events and to repeat them is going to make things worse.

There is a balance that we must find. But we also must realize that without the US govt we would probably not even exist now. If not for the govt, there would be no dams or flood control, there would be no interstates, there would be no night scopes, no microwave ovens, no national defense, ... We can't live with 'em, we can't live without 'em.

Ever since the dawn of civilization man has created govts. If you have a better idea to run a country and its citizens, then you have built a better mouse trap.

Ryan’s budget slashes Social Security and Medicare drastically while giving the truffle eaters a pass. AARP is already running TV adds denouncing it. 90 Catholic Bishops have issued a petition saying how the Ryan budget hurts the poor and middle class unfairly. Mitts has already lost the senior vote, Paul Ryan on the ticket will pit the nail in the coffin.

If Ryan were serious about the debt he would make sure his buddies pay the fair share of taxes. I hope he is chosen so the teabagger can really see how the medicare and SSI will be cut.

STEVE: How the debt is reduced and spending is allocated is a matter of issue, it's not your highway necessarily and Americans are not thrilled with Ryan, but I'm hoping he gets picked, because it will definitely mean a victory for the president. Yes most Americans want the debt issue addressed but they don't like the republican's solutions.

Odin: You are wrong. America is ready for somebody that can solve the biggest problem we have as a nation, Debt. Ryan is the the only politician in Washington to take this seriously.
