It’s amusing to read that some of the commentors in this thread believe that the law is the law, KIND OF. When it’s inconvenient, just ignore it, right?

Apparently they believe in “living laws” just as they believe in a “living constitution”.

It must really suck to be so clueless.

this article is very misleading- it makes it seem like the GOP were the ones to ban the water guns and so forth. In reality, the democrat mayor of Tampa and the rest of his government goons made the crackdown on those items. The only reason they can’t take away the freedom of the guns is because the GOP blocked it

So the folks in Florida who had the police run a criminal background check on them, gave fingerprints, took courses on legal self defense and gun safety and demonstrated competent handling and firing of a handgun to get their permits/licenses to carry a concealed handgun are considered a problem by the Democrat mayor of Tampa?

I presume there are absolutely no criminals residing in, or passing through, the city of Tampa anymore, as one of the most law-abiding groups of citizens (concealed licensees are arrested at a rate far less than POLICE) are being harassed by the mayor. He must not have any bigger problems to take up his valuable time.

In typical Republican fashion, this makes no sense whatsoever, and simply makes the Right look like a bunch of gun-crazy whack jobs. The Second Amendment doesn’t specify what type of “arms” people are allowed to bear. Why does Florida feel that the water-gun community should get the short straw here? I hope the big water-gun manufacturers (Mattel and Hasbro, among others) band together and challenge this unfair assault on their products. I hear the water-gun lobby is planning something special, and wet, for the upcoming festivities…………….

Nice distraction piece. Here is some real news. 119,000 jobs added in April. 2.2% GDP growth during 1st quarter of 2012, down from 4th qt of 2011, and largest number of Americans on food stamps in history. Thats what is called “real news.”
