To see a staunch Republican with this level of international experience openly coming on side with President Obama is rejuvenating – the truth can trump crass, manipulative partisanship. This is encouraging. POSTED BY: DAVE | JUNE 26, 2012, 1:37 PM 1:37 PM Yes it is. Jimmy Carter is not an eminence grise: he has missed too many chances to keep his mouth shut. His support of Hugo Chavez's elections was and is still suspect. As for Bush Senior, well, the term is overly generous. Sorry Mr. Tapper. Jimmy Carter is not an eminence grise: he has missed too many chances to keep his mouth shut. I am afraid the world is perceiving you as being a very weak leader. Never, ever, have we seen an American Prez so disgraced as when you were trying to get Putin to shake your hand....Putin had nothing but contempt on his face. Putin and China have an economic strategy in place and you are not invited. Egypt is not turning out too well and just waiting to see if Israel has had enough of Iran. From PEW Research a couple of weeks back: "President Obama's standing overseas has eroded sharply." Google the report and see by what percentages different countries now have of this Prez today as compared to 4 years ago. Mr. Prez, only the perceived strong get things done in this country...Kennedy, FDR, Clinton, Reagan to name a few were perceived to be very strong. I wish you well because we certainly need a strong leader in today's world. Mr. Prez, you are going to have to toughen up. I am afraid the world is perceiving you as being a very weak leader.
