@ DBright You seem to have confused Issa's accusations with the facts. Convicted criminal, Issa has accused th AG of being shady, but the facts are Issa has used those accusations to try to unseal 130,000 pages of ongoing investigation/ prosecution files. Issa repeatedly demanded the documents be unsealed, even after if he acknowledged he knew it was against the law for Holder to unseal the files or testify about them. Issa is using he allegations against Holder to try to destroy years of investigative work. That's what the facts show. Issa even lied today on TV, claiming he wanted access to one email when in fact he wants access thousands to documents in which the DOJ discusses the nature of sealed documents relating to ongoing cases. Issa is lying which is what you'd expect from someone trying to blow up a major law enforcement effort.

The GOP led committee seems to be deliberately attacking US law enforcement efforts to interdict the drug cartels. Issa subpoenaed sealed records; records that were received were leaked by Grassly to bloggers. Both, convicted criminal, Issa and Sen. Grassly are close allies of Senator Rubio, whose brother-in-law is doing 25 yrs to life for being part of an Organized crime syndicate which was involved in gun-running and cocaine distribution. Issa is spear-heading an attempt to destroy multiple investigations and prosecutions and wants to unseal records that will provide valuable intelligence to the Cartels and which could cost other agents their lives. I hope the FBI is investigating, Issa, Rubio and Grassly because there is ample cause.

This has nothing to do with Bush, it is all about a potential government coverup and the murder of a US citizen is involved. "At issue are about 1300 pages of documents that detail the Department of Justice’s communications following a DOJ letter to Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, which falsely claimed that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms made every effort to stop guns from going to Mexico after Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s death was linked to guns from the ATF operation."

DAVEM,

Would President Obama invoke executive privilege to protect George W. Bush? If you'd been involved in some activity beyond the law, which resulted in many deaths, you'd have to comply with a reasonable investigation to examine the evidence. How else could you determine who was involved, and thus attempt some sort of punishment? Before you go in attack mode on conservatives, you should read a little more. Seek to understand all sides. You are aware that Eric Holder has done some really shady things, right? Would you call a detective a bully if he knocked on your door to investigate a homicide in your neighborhood? Don't forget there was a border patrol agent who put his life on the line every day, knowing the risks, so we could have a safer society? He was killed by guns, forcibly allowed to be sold into Mexico. Do you think someone should be held accountable? If you sold the weapon to the dirtbag that killed that officer, I would think you deserved prison, and worse. The same would apply to me if I did something so heinous. But, because I think you're a good sport, I'm gonna tee one up for ya:

Here's a possible explanation that would seem fitting. I'm not claiming it's what happened, but it could explain why the White House invoked executive privilege. Obama is very pro gun-control. Although he hasn't made an "anti-gun, it's-the-right-thing-to-do" press op, he was openly against gunowners' rights in law school. So, he wants to prove a point that guns are deadly, and American guns are killing Americans because they are crossing the border. This would provide public-opinion fuel to enact stricter gun control measures "for the better good". It was a poorly conceived idea, kinda like his re-election campaign, and backfired. And now he wants about as much to do with it as he did with the Wisconsin recall vote. So, he's hiding something. All the panel wants to see is how the Justice Department communicated after the S*#T hit the fan. So, there's one possible explanation for the actions of the WH. OR, ....OR,, it's Obama being petty because Republicans are his enemies.

So, DAVEM, why do you think the White House invoked executive privilege? And while you're calling Rs bullies, consider how the president spoke to that reporter, KNOWING he wouldn't be able to respond. Call in the press to have a media moment, and then shut down any type of questioning? There's a bully, front and center. And don't forget, Mr. Romney, there's only ONE PRESIDENT AT A TIME. There's your bully. So, you go Dave, and maybe log onto barackobama.com and buy some cool t-shirts and join one of the street teams and push on FORWARD with the president. Don't forget, most cars go off of cliffs in "forward". If you pay attention, you may just thank conservatives for practicing restraint when it was most needed. You may not understand this, but the Tea Party movement is full of reluctant citizens who feel they had no chance but to act, for sake of Country and Liberty. If you've seen how the president applies some laws, and ignores others, you'd have another piece of the puzzle. Only because the destruction of the civil society is commencing, do the people act. This ain't NASCAR, and I'm sure you might put it. But have a nice day, and don't forget to vote the first Wednesday in November.

The issue is straightforward: turn over the documents or face the consequences. Holder and Obama seem to have lied (when one does not tell the truth or intentionally misleads) about Fast & Furious when they said they knew nothing about F&F. . Has any mgmt been prosecuted (moving from 1 office to another doesn't count). Anyone rational or sane can only conclude that the documents lead to Obama. After all, we know he has been FOR gutting the second amendment. So, it is a logical extension to believe he and Holder concocted a plan to blame the second amendment for F&F.

In a strictly party-line vote, the House committee on Oversight and Government Reform approved the citation 23 to 17, sending the resolution on to the full House for future consideration as early as next Tuesday.---------------------This is how the Rs use power when they get a majority , like bullies , just like Mitt . He fits right in to a tee . Conservative = Regressive to the point of being an obstacle to progress , as we've clearly seen over the last 3 years . Pure scum , who expect everyone to forget that BUSH 2 started this particular gun walking scam way way BEFORE Obama .
