One of the problems with repeating the same spruth post after post is after a while the poster starts to believe it's actually true.

“Sorry, when the Republican hold Congress and the presidency, you can’t blame what happens on the Democrats – it is something the Republicans must take responsibility for.”————–Sorry exaclty why independents hold obama responsible for the last 4 years.

POSTED BY: REAL_HOPE_AND_CHANGE | JUNE 14, 2012, 3:22 PM 3:22 PM

And so they should . . .

Over 4 million jobs have been added since Obama’s policies hit full stride. GM is back at the #1 car company in the world! Third shifts have been added at automotive plants. Manufacturing is up. Another 200,000+ jobs added in March/April.

Profits for big business hit record highs under the Obama administration.

Iraq war has been ended. A withdrawal plan is in place for Afghanistan. Bin Laden is dead. Kaddafhi is gone. Many, many al Qaeda leaders are gone. All of the world including Russia and China are onside against Iranian nuclear development. Nuclear inspectors are back in Iran. Against odds, America has been protected from any massive terrorist attack.

The stock market has gone up hugely since Obama’s policies began to kick in. People have regained almost all of their savings they lost under Bush and more. Oil production in the country is up. Green energy production in the country is up.

Don’t ask, don’t tell has been repealed. Equal pay for equal work reinforced. Millions of low-income children covered under health care.

Homelessness amongst veterans has been reduced by 56% since Obama set it as a priority. Programs and benefits for military families and veterans have been improved.

This is a top of the line administration.

More to be done? Of course. Back to Mitt W. Bush – I don’t think so.

POSTED BY: MICHELLE SHU JAS | JUNE 14, 2012, 2:35 PM 2:35 PM

Wrong again Michelle.

The Republicans held the majority in Congress for basically 12 straight years – from 1994 through 2006 and the presidency for the last 6 of those years.

It was during that time the sub-prime loans grew obscenely and the housing bubble swelled to bursting. In fact, the sub-prime industry and the housing bubble were already beginning to fall apart a year before the Democrats took Congress.

And still the Republicans try to pretend they’re not responsible. It’s not only laughable, it’s shameful.

stu wrote:"Using January 2009 as a begin date to blame lost jobs on Obama is just plain stupid."
.
You are absolutely right.... much better to use January 2007 as a begin date when oBama joined the DEMOCRAT majority in the Senate and the House. That would be a lot more accurate regarding the disastrous impact that oBama has had on this country.

2004: Under President Bush, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announces that it will require Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, also known as the Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) “to increase their purchase of mortgages for low- and moderate-income families and underserved communities.”

In order to meet these new requirements, the GSEs begin purchasing mortgage-backed securities made up of subprime loans.

The CRA did not lower lending standards. It protected against discrimination in lending.
Nobody was forcing banks to give all those risky loans, as anybody who got a mortgage during that time knows full well. Banks and realtors were pushing risky loans on customers everywhere.
The fact is that the Republicans deregulated the housing and financial markets and allowed the creation of a huge speculative bubble.

GOP supporters criticizing Mr. Obama for not being able to fix the collosal economic mess that Republican "Spend off-budget & Cut-Taxes" policies caused is a bit disingenuous. The American people do not forget this sort of incompetence easily. That the GOP wants to go back to the same failed approach is sad. Can't they come up with a new way to continue to transfer wealth from poor to rich? Using McCain's "economy is fundamentally sound" statement from 2008 as if it's analogous to Obama's "private sector is doing fine" comment further shows their extreme lameness. The state of the 2008 & 2012 economic conditions are night & day. Obama's leadership has produced 14 quarters of economic expansion without excessive inflation. We still have a ways to go & would get back to full employment sooner if the GOP were there helping American working people, rather than obessing on their oath to Mr. Norquist.

The original Community Reinvestment Act was signed by Carter on Oct 12, 1977.
Clinton gave government credits to banks who gave more loans to low-income folks.
Nov 1, 2011:
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said this morning that if there is anyone to blame for the mortgage crisis that led the collapse of the financial industry, it's not the "big banks," but Congress.

Speaking at a business breakfast in midtown featuring Bloomberg and two former New York City mayors, Bloomberg was asked what he thought of the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

"I hear your complaints," Bloomberg said. "Some of them are totally unfounded. It was not the banks that created the mortgage crisis. It was, plain and simple, Congress who forced everybody to go and give mortgages to people who were on the cusp."

Blame the banks all you want BIB, but the fact is the Democrats forced banks to give high risk loans.
