PARMA, Ohio — After pulling over for a burger and fries earlier today, the logical next stop for President Obama’s bus tour this evening was for beers.
On his way to Parma, the president dropped by Ziggy’s Pub and Restaurant in Amherst for a cold one with former governor Ted Strickland and to meet some of the local residents.
According to pool reports, the president entered the bar to applause and started working his way around the room. He did, however, pause to have a beer, a bottle of Bud Light.
After speaking with several diners about issues ranging from education to support for veterans, he met Jeff Hawks, who had a unique proposition for him.
“I’ll arm-wrestle you for your vote,” Hawks said. “No, I’ll play basketball for your vote,” the president replied.
