I believe that news should be "reported" not explained or produced and filtered through the reporter's personal political lense. So far every article by Shushannah Walshe that I found is extremely leftist and I am grossly disappointed in ABC News for employing a reporter who seems to be more interested in displaying their own political views than being a true news -person. The article that triggered my attention was published on July 18 in Marie Claire, where quite frankly, I am not surprised to see a surface-like political view "essay", but seeing that Shushannah Walshe is an ABC News reporter is shocking and makes me sad for such a reputable news company. Taking excerpts from political speeches and spinning them into a political scenario is not "reporting" and referring to the forementioned article : "Republican Women" are not "pissed off". What I would really like to understand is what type of research goes into her work if any.

The presumptive GOP nominee has released one year of his returns and an estimate of his 2011 returns, which he mentioned. He received an extension and said at the time he would release them in the next six months, which would be October.

He released "ONE YEAR", and then after "an extension" he will release them on HALLOWEEN? He can dress up like an SEC employee and get them out the day before the election. What a sinister $$$$$ groveling loser. Ann and her "couple of cadillac's"...poor baby....that and the MILLION $ dressage horse being flown to the UK for the Olympics. We do that all the time in our house!

Romney will not release his tax returns, if he did we would all know how much money he gave Planned Parenthood when he was pro-choice.

Right. Clearly, if Obama releases years worth of tax returns and Romney releases a single, prettified "I'm running for office, for Pete's sake" tax return, the only fair trade for more tax returns from Romney is for Obama to "release" something more, something other than the tax returns he's already released.

And yes, clearly, a persons grades between the ages of 18 and 22 are every bit as relevant to a person's character and qualifications for public office, as their last few years of tax returns--especially when the only real qualification one of the candidates has touted is what a brilliant and successful business person he is.

Romney has clearly made the calculation that there are things in his returns that would be far more damaging to him than the criticism he's taking for not releasing them. Stuff that won't be just a one week controversy and then go away if he "exhausts the story" by doing a Friday afternoon datadump.

Dodgy, tenuously legal, tax shelters? Charitable contributions or further investments in businesses that would enrage the wingnut or evangelical segments of the base? Tax positions that are at variance with representations he's made in SEC filings? Actual criminal tax evasion that might be revealed if thousands of eyeballs are put on the task?

We don't know. What we do know is that Romney thinks that kind of speculation is less damaging to him than the truth. Think about that. Romney thinks there's something in his returns that would be so damaging to him, that it's more important to keep it secret than to quell the speculation, that either some of the things people are speculating about are, in fact, correct or that there's something worse in them than the worst thing people have imagined.

Given what we already know, I can't imagine how anyone except Limbaugh-soaked boneheads and millionaire pundits wouldn't find the fact that he's made this calculation even the tiniest bit concerning in a potential president.

I think both sides should be transparent. I agree with Mitt over F&F scandal. It would anger Latino/Latina voters and that is why an executive order was placed on it. If they knew, I'm sure many wouldn't vote for Mr. O. That's why it is so volatile.

I think if Mitt has to release his tax returns he should do it now, farther away from the election. Gives him time to fight it and let people forget about it.

I agree with Mitt on the F&F comment. I think there are some F&F docs which would anger Latinos and Mr. O doesn't want it coming out because it would undermine all of his gains with the Latino vote. That's what I think.

Both sides should be transparent!
