this Made in USA legislation is a good first step but the Olympics only occurs every 2/4 years and that order is small compared to what the rest of government purchases in clothing. What about tackling the horrible unemployment rate by legislating that every government department, federal, state, county and city to only buy Made in America clothing and promotional items, this will bring back manufacturing and jobs, which is more important compared to a small order of athlete uniforms. Also increase the tariffs on imported clothing and promo items, so we have a fighting chance to compete. The Senators need to think on a bigger scale!

It seems to me that goods “Made in China” or some other offshore location is more the norm for our country, and in some ways this “travesty” is a truer representation of what America is really like. Consumers seek the lowest prices on manufactured goods, and large corporations ship production to cheaper overseas locations. Why should there be legislation to ensure that only special, ceremonial uniforms be manufactured in the USA? We need legislation that will encourage more “Made in America” production of all goods. Lets create American jobs and bring the pride back to American manufacturing for ALL consumer goods.

Ralph Lauren is one of the Democrat’s and Obama’s favorite donors. This is just to make a bunch a politicians look good on the ballot. What would be better is if Obama would plan to eliminate the $10Bn to be loaned by the US to Brazil for Oil Drilling off their coast that will end up going to China. The effect is that George Soros is getting a $811M windfall in one of his hedge funds. Outsourcing and crony-capitalism to the max!

Funny how Harry couldn’t find time to vote on Obama’s tax plan, but all of a sudden, US olympic uniforms are a top issue. The olympic team uses private funds. If Harry wants to change things, he will have to pay for new uniforms with our tax dollars.
