There’s one reason Canada is used for so many films: TAX CREDITS. Canadian tax credits have been attracting Hollywood folks for years, yet they claim they want everybody to pay higher taxes. Ha!

the profit numbers in your piece are box-office “Domestic Gross” which means the money was made in the USA, and many of the films still earned less than Mitt Romney has in his IRA which no one has explained how you could accumulate so quickly when there is supposedly a ceiling to what you can invest each year. thanks for the false equivalency.

I would imagine that Canadians, Englishmen, Chinese all watch movies so why not make them where it is cheaper and a lot less hassel. Besides we know that there are different standard for people bankrolling democrats so let hypocrites be who they are.

Why didn’t the guy go a step further and talk about all the foreign actors taking roles that American actors “should” have? Isn’t that “outsourcing” too? Do better, ABC!! You’re starting the read like Fox. This occurs on all movies, even those produced and directed by Republicans in Hollywood. How about including them on the list, especially since Gov. Romney doesn’t want jobs to be outsourced, right? Or does he???

Clint Eastwood was the director and producer of Unforgiven and probably had some say as to where his movie would be filmed. He is a Republican. He just spoke at a fundraiser for Romney in Sun Valley.

Morgan Freeman was an actor in those films, he most likely had no say as to the location of the filming of those movies mentioned in the article.

Like I said, almost all of these movies were produced during the Bush administration. Nothing to do with the Obama administration at all.

People are free in the United States to support whatever political party they want. Even outsourcers of jobs get to support whoever they want. There is no written rule that outsourcers must support Romney, or the Republicans.

If you go to recovery.gov you will see a map. If you click on the state of California you will find a list of all the money and where it went starting with who got the most down to who got the least. It is mostly Cities, school districts, charter schools, technical schools, colleges, universities, public trasportation, public utilities, construction companies, hospitals, health clinics, medical research, Boys and Girls Clubs, food banks, the list is very long and I didn’t see anything going to Hollywood. Look it up and see for yourself.
