Two former Anne Richards supporters who got close to George W. Bush when it was expedient to do so and then abandoned him when he became the worst president in history. Dowd is now a "former republican strategist" who wants a reasoned debate. What Dowd pretends to be is convenient for the moment. As soon as an opportunity presents itself, look for him to reemerge for a "sane" Republican, such as Jeb Bush in 2016. Dowd was an operative for the Rove strategy, promoted a senseless war and an economic policy that brought the world to its knees. Just one time, explain to me why his opinion of the moment matters.
