Had it been a Republican that said he believes every thing he says, I am certain abc would have used this as a opportunity to launch into days of fact checking. During the RNC they were fact checking as it happened. Now during the DNC crickets. I guess I am to assume that Democrats do not stretch the truth or lie about anything.

BCDERICK, try reading a little more closely. President Obama never said he doesn’t show any emotion. Do you notice the word ‘feign’ in the article? The definition of that word should explain it all to you! A dictionary can be a good friend!

No Larry, that’s not correct. I just read the entire transcrip “PRESCRIPTION FOR AMERICA” TOWN HALL ON HEALTH CARE, June 24, 2009t, and encourage you to read it also.

President Obama said, “Doctors are NOT going to be working for the government. And in terms of how doctors are reimbursed, it’s going to be the same system that we have now, except we can start making some changes so that, for example, we’re rewarding quality of outcomes rather than the number of procedures that are done.”

And, he clearly touched on end of life care when talking about his grandmother, diagnosed with terminal cancer, and expected to have 6-9 months to live. She fell and broke her hip. And then the question was, “does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough that they weren’t sure how long she would last, whether she could get through the surgery.”

That question is decided by the patient and the patient’s family with the patient’s doctor – not dictated by the government. It is exactly the process my family and my father used when he elected hospice care at home instead of surgery for a brain tumor. Facing those decisions with help from local Hospice organizations is not “cold”, it is sensible.
