Regardless of what you think of Schumer, he is right about Ryan’s plan… it is a total fraud. IF it does reduce the deficit (and that’s a big IF, because that relies on a host of rosy, unsubstantiated assumptions), it does so by shifting the cost of federal programs onto the states or citizenry… it doesn’t actually cut any spending or make anything more cost-efficient… it just shifts burdens….. And the CBO estimates it will INCREASE the overall cost of healthcare in America by 40% over leaving Medicare and Medicaid as is. Not sure how increasing the cost of healthcare by that much is supposed to help this country get out of debt.

And then, when you bring his tax ideology into view, it becomes obvious that this guy is no deficit hawk… If you combine what he says he wants to do with taxes to his budget plans, all you end up with is a higher federal deficit combined with even MORE state and local debt.

I’m sure that Sen. Chuck Schumer just “accidentally” insulted Paul Ryan like President Obama did. They probably also want the Romney/Ryan Administration to fail! Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!

Schumer is a sleazy politician. The perpetual smirk is more than a little annoying. Bob Dole once said that the most dangerous place to be was between Chuck Schumer and the nearest TV camera.

Paul Ryan voted for every spending bill when GWB was in office and the Republicans had Congress. To say he is a deficit hawk and fiscal conservative IS fraudulent. I do not like Shumer – he is a fool – but he is right on this.
