On another note: As a 66 year old gamer myself, I find the remarks about gamers in general on that website highly insulting. And, btw, I know a lot of people over the age of 50 who play World of Warcraft. It’s a far better use of our time that watching reality garbage on TV, for pete’s sake.

She was referencing game terms which are now being twisted to make her sound like a homicidal maniac. Can I now decry these clowns when they reference slicing and choking while playing a round of golf? It’s exactly the same ridiculous concept. They’re counting on you being ignorant and stupid enough to follow their line of reasoning

I call baloney on the thing with her comments made while in-game. That’s like tracking down someone’s forum post history and trying to use it against them. I doubt anyone who has used forums in the last decade has a perfectly clean record of entirely PG-rated, non-biased comments. I mean, if Obama had gotten involved in one of the many warrior vs paladins/shadow knights flamewars back in the days of Everquest, I wouldn’t hold it against him. If GWB had spent two whole years prior to his becoming president trolling Ragnarok Online fan forums, I wouldn’t hold that against him. And if a lady running for office says things in-game or on forums, I’m not gonna hold it against her.

That they’re trying to use this against her is sad and low. And yes, insinuating things about WoW’s huge playerbase, and the fact that more than just a few adults play games as a hobby, is not exactly smart.
