Trillion Dollar Tax Hike? 'Yes We Do… in some regard' - You know they're shaking things up a bit when Joe Biden takes questions from the first national press corps for the first time since getting out "over his skis" and boxing Obama in on gay marriage.

Arlette Saenz Reports - But while Biden delivered a handful of zingers against Romney's tax plan, he also provided fodder for Republican attacks against his own. The GOP's rapid response team shot out a clip of Biden's speech in which he said "yes we do" want to raise taxes by a trillion dollars. The clip cut out Biden's next words - "in one regard" - in which he explained that those trillion dollars would come only from the "super-wealthy."

"On top of the trillion dollars of spending we've already cut, we're going to ask - yes, we're going to ask the wealthy to pay more," Biden said. "You know the phrase they always use. 'Obama and Biden want to raise taxes by a trillion dollars.'Guess what? Yes, we do, in one regard. We want to let that trillion-dollar tax cut expire so the middle class doesn't have to bear the burden of all that money going to the super-wealthy. That's not a tax raise. That's called fairness where I come from." http://abcn.ws/T4gwYO

Wit a Day Late - It was clear Obama didn't bring his A game to Denver. He had plenty of zingers and energy at a morning rally in Colorado. He said the real Mitt Romney wasn't "that guy on the stage last night" even as his supporters wondered who was "that guy on the stage last night" that looked like Obama. Today in front of supporters he had plenty of rejoinders. http://abcn.ws/SKvyDh

PBS to Romney - "The federal investment in public broadcasting equals about one one-hundredth of one percent of the federal budget. Elimination of funding would have virtually no impact on the nation's debt. Yet the loss to the American public would be devastating." http://to.pbs.org/PUEc2q
