I completely agree that we need to put PEOPLE FIRST, and I do hope the victims get relief in a timely manner! This storm threw everyone – even the weather experts – for a huge loop and will surely go down in the history books as a major element of the Election of 2012.

That said, I live in Texas where hurricanes, tornados, floods and other weather disasters are fairly common, we grow up expecting them; when I was a kid in grade school we had tornado drills.

So all this storm coverage in NYC, New Jersey and New England over the past couple of days is theater for many of us that live in Tornado alley and in states along the Gulf coast. It reminds me of when the East Coast had an earthquake last year, people freaked out yet Californians were wondering what all the fuss was about.

As the previous poster , I commend you for your thought and your prayer for the victims of the storm.

Enough said, reading beteeen the line of your piece, I cannot resist to think about the victims of the Benghazi attack and the victims of the storm.

On one side, we have a man-made incident in Benghazi and on the other hand, we have a natural disaster. We cannot prevent the act of nature to happen but we can prevent a man-made event in Benghazi.

You claimed there would be an unexpected event in October that will change core of the election. Now, we have the Benghazi attack and the disaster from the storm. Yes, naturally both camps will go an extra miles to take care of the victims of the storm. It is a moral responsibility to take care of the unfortunate victims of the storm.

I have a problem with the act of the regime toward the Americans at Benghazi. Not only their request for help was turned down that represented the level of betrayal but the attempt to cover up is beyond anyone's imagination.

There you have it. Two separate unexpected events with two different re-actions. Let the people be the judge on Nov 6th 2012. God bless America.

What a nice piece. So full of thought and concern for people and not attacking and pontificating.

I hope that the reprieve from the bickering will last. Already right wing bloggers are attacking the president for "politicizing" the event, despite the fact that all he has done is his job.

I look at Chris Christie today and I see someone who cares more about people than politics. The president, too. Clearly, matthew Dowd as well.
