The Bush (dems had a hand in it too) tax cuts to the wealthy did not cause the recession but coupled with the deregulation of the financial sector certainly was a major contributor. Trickledown never works.

These spending cuts, if enacted will also put us into a recession. You don’t cut spending and put millions of Americans out of work, then expect the economy to recover.

Those Americans won’t pay taxes, will require assistance and will contribute nothing to consumer confidence or teh market palce. It might lower the deficit for 10 minutes, then due to a lack of revenue it will sky rocket again.

The Bush tax cuts did not cause the deficit… yet that is ALL Obama can talk about!! — What is Obama ready to cut from his spending budget??? — This rising deficit has been driven not by falling revenues, but by increasing spending!! — According to Obama’s own Office of Management and Budget, since these Bush tax cuts went into effect, federal revenues have not decreased, but actually increased by some $686 billion… about 39%. The problem is that federal spending has increased MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH… by some $1.6 trillion… about 76%!!!!

LOL…LOL…so conservatives just ‘figured out’ that the GOP ‘leadership’ wasn’t telling them the ‘truth about ‘job creatioon and reduced tax rates’? LOL…LOL…I can’t buy that one. They can look up the ‘statistics and history…just like the rest of us can. This is JUST ABOUT the “very friggin’ wealthy’ still not wanting to pay their ‘fair share of taxes’. And thinking they have the ‘clout’ to hi-jack the rest of the country. Well…just like the election they were so ‘convinced they would win’…they don’t realize that they are going to lose here too.

As has been said, when the percentage of those who don’t pay any income taxes finally pushes past 50%, it’s all over. That “class” of folk will vote in the likes of Obama every four years no matter the consequences.
