These people spend our $ like it grows on tress.....or you can print it! I read recently we spent $1.4b last yr on BO for travel and staff.....you don't see that or any other expenses associated with him, Congress or the Senate on the table to be cut....but lets move the age for Medicare to 70. GOP trying to play games with our dollars. What Boehner offred today is what he offred 2 years ago. I'll take the cliff and tighten my belt but at least Defense will see some little cut. More of your income needs to be confiscated and more of your tax benefits need to be cut to ensure there's less income inequality. Millions of poor people don't even own computers. Yours will be taken and repurposed. Your personal vehicle? Gone. You will use public transportation, car pool, or hitchhike. Don't worry. Your sacrifice is for the common good and the poor will be grateful for your generosity. President Obama has stated that everyone should have skin in the game. Money and material things are just burdens on your psyche. Be generous with your tax dollars and your property for it belongs to all of society and not you. Since you openly claim the moral high ground, it's important that you show America how it's done. Lead the way. Don't be a hypocrite or selfish. So, what is the real purpose of raising taxes on the so called rich? If things were so great under the Clinton years, then why don't we ALL go back to those rates and let's also GO BACK TO CLINTON LEVEL SPENDING. In the meantime, the federal govt will continue to pay $3 in services for $1 contribution to Medicare. Just how far do you think you could go earning $1 dollar but spending $3? The math works - right? (sarcasm intended) Obama will continue to add to the debt and deficit until we are at well above 2O TRILLION at the end of his current term. He will continue to use accounting gimmicks to call savings things that we had no plans to spend on in the first place. With the UNFUNDED liabilities of Medicare, Medicaid, and federal employee pension funds we are closer to 86 TRILLION dollars in debt, not the 16 TRILLION spoken up during the election. Why not a value added tax, with exceptions such as food? Then at the end of each year, rebates could be offered based on income levels. Why not limit deductions to somewhere between 30-50K? Why not start slowly raising the retirement age, say for people 40 and younger? People now can live 30 years in retirement. Why not increase the current income level for collecting SS - increase it from 106K to at least 150K? Why not make some tweeks to Medicare, such as slowly raising the eligibility age? But, in the process, make some exceptions based on health, career, etc. For example, in some professions they are able to currently retire at 55, because of the kind of physical and emotional strain. I believe the Secret Service is one such example. Taxing the rich will only operate the federal govt for 8.5 days. So, what is the real purpose of raising taxes on the so called rich?
