As a former food stamp interview, I am not impressed by the rich guy’s one week experiment. He knows there will be a return to the good life in seven days. That’s nothing more than a short vacation for a guy like that. He has to be in the frame of mind 24/7 without all the positive support and media publicity of trying to prove a point. He has to be destitute and desperate with mouths to feed attached to his wallet in a similar desperate condition for far longer than seven whole days. Nothing more out of touch that a rich guy roughing it for the weekend to prove a misguided point.

How do Right Wingers “know” too many people are irresponsible? Where do they find these numbers? Seriously, other than just mean spirited hearsay, provide a valid source.

FDA data shows that 80% of food stamps go to families with kids. The solution is to place those children into foster care?

I see many young healthy people using their food stamps in 7-11 type stores buying soda and junk food. Then go out and get in a better car than mine. Food stamps and welfare were put in place to help people get on their feet, not stay on for a life time. Young healthy men and women know how to play the system and we are being had for trillions.

I understand that some people have bad situations but too many people are just irresponsible. Stop making excuses for the bums!

I see. So single mothers who need to care for their kids, the elderly poor, physically disabled citizens and 25% of American children living in poverty should work full time + 2 part-time jobs instead of accepting food stamps.

When he gives up this little charade, I’d like to see him WORK 3 REAL JOBS to get by. I’ve never seen or used a food stamp, but I have worked 1 full time + 2 part time jobs to survive. I paid my taxes and contributed to Social Security for 50+ years – it is NOT an entitlement program for me. It is an entitlement program for the illegals the demoncraps chose to buy their votes with my money. Some folks will re-elect this bozo as if he is doing something . He’ll use up the food stamp allotment in one meal, and keep on eating the prime rib and lobster, but we wont know about the truth. This country is so screwed.

Could one of these food stamp critics who demand more “responsibility” please explain to us how elderly Americans, little kids, and disabled citizens can become more “responsible”?

Should the one-quarter of American kids who live in poverty go to school or go to bed hungry?

And one last question: How much more “freedom” do we experience when a veteran with PTSD cannot feed his family – or a widow must make the choice between food and medicine?

Food stamps are hard to obtain, even if you need them. I have a disabled husband, newborn daughter, and I’m a student. I tried to obtain food stamps but the lady said that my husband makes too much, which is less than most mortgage payments.
