POSTED BY: THE_MICK | DECEMBER 31, 2012, 5:48 PM 5:48 PM

The GOP-controlled House passed a budget in 2012. The Democrat-controlled Senate hasn't passed a budget since 2009. Both chambers must pass a budget before it can be reconciled and sent to the president. Boehner did his part. Reid refused to do his. That is why we're here. Democrats failed epically and they are responsible for the fallout.

Just keep this in mind, GOP Senators: if you vote to extend tax credits for the poor, extend unemployment benefits, extend tax breaks to green energy companies, extend payroll tax cuts; we WILL primary you. PUMA!

I, the Cuomocrat for Rubio, formally retract that. Republicans: you have my lobby's permission to vote for this deal! It's great for us! As we all know, all tax-hikes would have been permanent had there been no deal. But this deal, among other things, raises the tax brackets, and makes permanent the estate tax exemption... at $5 million! presumably indexed to inflation to boot! Sure, we gave up on some things that would have otherwise expired: tax credits that are refundable, even if you didn't pay any taxes, like 47% of all Americas; payments for being unemployed, courtesy of the tax-paying employed portion of America. But we can take all that back in the debt-ceiling negotiations! Republicans don't want to raise the debt. Democrats want to raise the debt. You want to raise the debt, Barack Hussein? Pony up! PUMA!

This is a tremendous fail for Boehner. According to the United States Constitution (Article I, Section 8, clause 12) ... all bills relating to revenue, generally tax bills, must originate in the House of Representatives. The Senate is doing it because Boehner isn't capable of doing so with his anti-democracy, no-compromise Tea Partiers displaying their fear of special interests and willingness to obey them rather than do what's right.

Wrong again. California's energy production is not even a blip on its GDP, whereas energy plays a major role in Oklahoma's GDP - especially since the major upswing in natural gas.

Oklahoma is energy rich with a small population of 3.8 million. California has a population of 38 million.

Did they not teach you research and logic in school?

It has nothing to do with a political party.

Oklahoma is the nation’s third-largest producer of natural gas, fifth-largest producer of crude oil, and has the second-greatest number of active drilling rigs, and ranks fifth in crude oil reserves.

That is the primary source of the achievements you tout.

LOL! California is the third largest producer of crude oil in the United States. Its economy is a disaster.

California ended its fiscal year June 30, 2012 $3.6 billion in the hole. Deficit spending the first five months of the current fiscal year added another $2.7 billion in debt, bringing the state's total debt to nearly $25 billion. After Californians voted for massive tax increases by approving of Proposition 30 in November, the state's tax revenues declined in November by $806.8 million, or 10.8%.

No surprise since California ranks dead last on the 2012 list of states' friendliness to business compiled for nine years by Illinois-based Pollina Corporate Real Estate, a corporate site selector. Residents continue to flee the state and take their tax dollars with them.

California's Gov. Jerry Brown is a liberal Democrat. Duh.

The older generations will remember "Elliot Ness and the untouchables", the younger generation will probably remember its reruns. We have a new group now "Obama and the incompentents". They are sent to congress to provide a budget to run the government and they haven't accomplished that in over 3 years. Seems to me if they can't do their jobs they need to be replaced (both parties)
