Obama Leaves Message for Newtown Teachers

Visiting Newtown High School Sunday, President Obama personally responded to a note that two teachers left for him on their classroom whiteboard.

The note, which was signed by "Steve George, teacher/football coach" and "Bobby Pattison, teacher," read:

"Dear President Obama, The Newtown community is so thankful that you are coming to help us heal. In times of adversity it is reassuring to know that we have a strong leader to help us recover."

"You're in our thoughts and prayers," Obama responded, signing his name on the whiteboard.

Steve George later tweeted a picture of their correspondence. "@newtownfootball: Myself an[d] pattison left a note to president Obama on my board and he responded!! Here is his response. pic.twitter.com/glWsHDCb"
