“you might want to remember that after WWII we (the United States of America) were the only nation that could provide the rest of the world with goods needed, now, as you always remind us we are in a GLOBAL economy and looking back 65 years does help.”

POSTED BY: LIZZIE | DECEMBER 22, 2012, 7:12 PM

Complete and utter balderdash. Lizzie, the fact that a keyboard and the internet were used to post that statement flies in the face of reality. I suspect most Right Wingers don’t use rotary dial telephones anymore either. The U.S. has continued to grow and invent new technologies for the benefit of the global market – and grown our GDP to bring down debt at the same time. Remember the Clinton era when we built 23 million new jobs?

Our nation’s population has doubled in size since WWII and there are 7 Billion people on the planet. We face tremendous future challenges with food, weather, water, and energy. The U.S. cannot afford for Luddites, War Mongers, and Anchor Draggers to dictate national policy.

I encourage every conservative to read Andy Grove’s article :”How America Can Create Jobs”. We have work to do.

"And in the view of many others, his decisions and his policies have stymied an actual recovery…And as a business owner, I tend to agree. This CIC is economically clueless."

Which economists with expertise in Recessions say Obama's policies have "stymied an actual recovery"? Not just Faux News talking heads - we'd appreciate names of economists for your perspective - and can you honestly say that your business has NOT improved since 2007?

“Not sure what economists you’re talking about, but if it makes you feel better, please continue to delude yourself and hang on for the ride ahead.”
POSTED BY: DOUGLAS | DECEMBER 22, 2012, 5:22 PM

Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics is hardly “delusional”. He believes government saved our bacon: “It was very costly, but the cost would have been MEASURABLY different and GREATER had the government not interceded.”

Also, Harvard University economist Kenneth Rogoff, who studies recessions, said the pace of this recovery under President Obama has been consistent with recoveries after other meltdowns, like the Great Depression. “Delusional” is believing that austerity would have magically bounced our economy back to 2006 housing bubble levels – or even prevented a double dip recession.

Today Zandi warns that slowing growth in Europe, Japan and Canada may also slow U.S. exports in 2013. But in the long term, he predicts exports will remain a key contributor to growth.

Growth is key – my business and many others who plan to survive are not willing to give up and “hang on for the ride”. Just like many entrepreneurs, we believe it’s time to WORK – pick up the economy and decide where we want to be in the next 20 years. No time for complainers who give up, lie by the side of the road, and blame “Barry”.

Mark Zandi - Economic expert? Good grief. Check out his 'sagely' statements documented in "The Abysmal Track Record of Moody's Mark Zandi". Sept 2010.

"It’s supported widely in the country and many rich completely supported the move and readily admitted they could afford to pay more."

LOL - Tell that to Warren Buffet Jim...
As for "wide support", when did that begin to matter?? Case in point - Obamacare.

so you’re telling us the Democrats and the President didn’t start the war on successful people, they just call it the rich folks

There was no 'war' started at all, it was a tax position put forward that the rich should pay a small amount more in taxes. It's supported widely in the country and many rich completely supported the move and readily admitted they could afford to pay more. You'd like to pretend it's a 'war' because you're bigoted.

The rich are doing fine, they don't need your crocodile tears and your phony hysteria.
