TMF – You are practicing some serious revisionist history. Clinton dove towards the center after the Dems were trounced in the mid-terms in 95. Clinton, to his credit, worked with Newt to LOWER the cap gains rate and REFORM welfare. He didn’t have the power to dictate terms. I am sorry, but your account is factually inaccurate. Try again.

Presdent Obama has handled Speaker Boehner the same way President Clinton handled Newt Gingrich.

President Clinton would let Newt play his political games while the American people watched. Newt would hem and haw, blame the President, blah, blah until he found out the people were putting the blame squarely where it belonged, on him.

Do you republicans honestly believe that when your elected representatives have to ask Grover Norquist for permission on how to vote helps your credibility with the American people?

Finally Newt would come up with a bill almost exactly like President Clinton wanted. Clinton would keep threatening to veto and force Newt into further concessions.

Believe me, if Boehner’s plan B passes the House and Senate, the President will sign it. No tax increase for the middle class, no spending cuts and taxes go up on the wealthy. Whether 400,000 or 1 million is the cut off doesn’t matter.

I wish Boehner could pass plan B and it gets through Congress, but I doubt it. Reid will set it on his desk to collect dust. I would enjoy seeing Obama attempt to veto it. Alas, the cliff is here and I am ready. Geronimo!!!!
