@ common _ sense: Please google info about Senator Inouye's life and service to our nation.

Inouye was at the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941 as a medical volunteer. Severely wounded in another battle, Inouye's mutilated right arm was amputated at a field hospital without proper anesthesia.

After military service, Inouye studied political science with the help of the G.I. Bill, later earning a law degree. He was first elected to his state's legislature, then to the U.S. Senate where he became chair of the Committee on Appropriations and serves on the Committee of Science, Commerce and Transportation.

This remarkable, brave and intelligent man did not seek the "easiest job in the world", nor is he one of "these people" whose life, sacrifice, and service has been simply "hanging on to a job". A grateful nation wishes him a speedy recovery.

Being in Congress and the Senate must be the easiest job in the world! Where else can people who should long ago retired hand on to these jobs? It does not reflect well on the judgement of the American voter to keep re-electing these people! There is more to life than hanging on to a job.
