Why doesn’t anyone report this as it REALLY was? A news reporter was having a slow night and saw dogs loose in Newark and tweeted Mayor media who NEVER walks away from a camera op.

This is a great story. Regardless of the intentions of the reporter, the Mayor helped the dog. All good questions, why didn’t the reporters call animal control? Why didn’t they put the dog in their car while waiting? The good thing is that the dog probably would have been put to sleep if taken by animals control. The bad thing is, I think the owner is full of it. Didn’t they say they were moving? Sounds to me like they had left the dog behind, took the puppies and had no intention of going back to get her. Very sad that they were given the dog back. I hope they didn’t take her and then dump here on the side of the road somewhere to be more confused, lost, cold and away from her puppies. I wish they would have verified if they still lived there or not. If not, the dog and puppies should have been taken away and the owners should have been fined. It would have been nice to see the mayor take the dog and keep her, getting her spayed of course. :-) I hope she’s ok. Great job Mayor. Thank you for caring!

So news truck didn’t call animal control, didn’t pick up dog,didn’t call police But called Mayor?If this isn’t PR stunt I don’t know what is. Oh yea I do, Ryan washing pans in soup kitchen.

This was such an obvious photo op for Corey Booker.Wht the police and cameras? Just do it quietly and talk about it later.The cameras being there make me feel it was more a publicity stunt.
