My point to previous comments was that the Second Amendment’s interpretation has been contentious in the United States for decades before this President took office – just as many people today do not believe in YOUR interpretation of militia.

It does not take a Constitutional Scholar to present the FACT that Chief Justice Warren E. Burger declared the individual-rights theory of the amendment as “a fraud.” Or that the current Supreme Court agrees legislation CAN ban other weapons.

And where did you pick up the idea that government should only enforce laws on the books? Seriously provide a historically accurate source, other than an NRA newsletter. Legislation IS CHANGE, and right now a majority of Americans want our President and Congress to redefine gun laws. Oh, and by the way, immigratio reform is coming too.

Maria, You can’t just google and play it off like you know the constitution or law in 3 minutes or less. The 2nd amendment was for “militias” but the militias were made up of minute men mostly at that time. People who were private citizens who grabbed a weapon and defended their country and their land as a militia “in a minute”. So dont assume it meant an actual army or official service entity of the government. His job and the government is to uphold laws on the books and not all this activism stuff and enforcing only parts of the laws on the books…including immigration

Fortunately, all it takes is renouncing U.S. citizenship and a move to establish the vision of a Libertarian paradise in wide open space like The Western Sahara or Antarctica. No more doom or “abomination” or “such a leader”.

Surely is should be easy to create perfect privatized schools for everyone and a higher credit rating with no more taxes or the burden of a social contract – just don’t expect little luxuries like interstate roads, food safety, a federal electric grid and civil rights.

Unprecedented debt, more people living in poverty now than in the last thirty years, our credit rating soon to be down graded, a failing education system that has gotten even worse over the last four years. Does anyone think we have a chance when we elect, and then re-elect, such a leader? Does anyone else feel as though we are doomed.
