Their heart is in the right place and I hope they succeed but I think they are a little naive. Congress will do absolutely nothing. It is owned by the gun lobby (NRA).

They should find some ambitious state attorney general or greedy, smart ambulance chaser and help fund lawsuits against the gun manufacturers on behalf of the victims of these assault weapons. No jury in this country would deny that these gun manufacturers are culpable.

Once the manufacturer’s find out they will be held financially responsible for their actions, they will police themselves.

If the manufacturers want to fight it all the way to the Supreme Court, let them. If the Court rules in their favor, then Phillip Morris and RJ Reynolds are going to be owed a lot of money from the states and individuals who they paid settlements to.
