As I said calling me names is not a logical discussion. There is plenty of blame to go around for both parties but cutting spending and putting millions out of work is not an answer.

As I said, most of the racists today reside in the far right of the Republican Party. I didn’t say everyone in the right wing of that party was a racist. I think if you considered where all the hate for this President comes from you’d know I’m right.

I do think by not speaking up and condemning the racist name calling and insinuations that the republicans encourage that sort of behavior.

Look on this blog, there are people like you , COMMONSENSE, NEWCOUNTRYMAN, etc with whom logical and open discussion can occur, but face it there are a lot of people on this blog who don’t want rational discussion of differences but resort to cheap ass names for the President and oppose everything he says just because he said it.

The fact remain, the housing bubble was started by democrat policies – Wall Street certainly jumped in on – unfortunately for your argument, Wall Street in mainly greedy democrats.

Now we are in a situation where an inventor like Thomas Edison would be dissuaded from producing medical devices because of onerous taxes placed on those devices by the Affordable Care Act – you can call it what you want – oh better yet, come up with some name calling to prove your point.

How do you explain the republican opposition to the tax cut extension for the middle class because the wealthy didn’t get it too?

How do you explain the republican’s insistence on privatizing Social Security and Medicare which will hurt the middle class and give a windfall to the investment bankers and health insurance industry,

How do you explain the republican spending cuts that will put millions out of work?

I could go on all day. You can’t name one republican proposal that doesn’t benefit the truffle eaters over middle class working people.

The republicans want a country like Venezuela, where the rich thrive and the middle class lives on the streets barely surviving, more than the democrats would ever dream of.

As I said, no one is arguing with you that southern democrats and a lot from the north opposed the Civil Rights Act. Most of them are dead and gone or have changed parties.

Today most of the racists and bigots that are left (hopefully a small number) reside in the far right of the Republican Party. They try to hide it but if you just look at the unreasonable hate and incivility they have for this President you can tell who they are easily. If it quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

A lot of them just don’t think a black man is smart enough to be President, period.

It just kills you guys that the Civil Rights Act passed with a higher rate of Republican support than Democrat support, doesn’t it? It’s funny that Democrats don’t remember the south being full of racists and bigots until AFTER the Civil Rights Act passed in the 1960′s and the Republican party started to make some inroads in the 1970′s.
