Celebrities are more often politically left (democrats, “progressives”) and support Feinstein, et al. proposing the most restrictive gun legislation ever. Included in these proposals is the improper fining of gun manufacturers and others, selling a legal product. I do not see the same standard applied to General Motors or the manufacturers of assault #2 pencils, for the damage done by the improper or illegal use of their products. Second, training is a states right issue (sovereignty), and no one, not a blind man or an 85 year old woman should have to be trained to exercise a constitutional right (D.C. v Heller) to have a gun in their home for self-defense. Moreover, age, sex, race, zip code or political affiliation or connections should have ANYTHING to do with constitutional rights. Sorry, celebrities do not carry any weight on the issues of effective self-defense, constitutional rights and individual freedom, nor should they. These are far too precious to trade for some left and far left opportunistic, and misguided perceptions of public safety. That is never a good trade in a free and open constitutional republic. Okay on the mental patient registry, okay on prosecuting felons committing gun crimes, trafficking guns, lying on firearm applications or straw sales to felons. Leave the rest alone and try not to send any more guns to Mexico drug cartels where Americans are killed as a result. Feinstein wants to make illegal a gift of a pistol to a relative, that came with a 15-round stainless steel $50 magazine illegal. Like Ayn Rand in “Atlas Shrugged”, if enough laws are passed, everyone becomes a criminal. Americans should do what they can to make sure this legislation other than the exceptions above never see the light (or darkness??) of day.

Well if that doesn’t sum up and epitomize the liberal mindset in this country. No Chris, they are not my mother and father, I have a mother and father and they stopped making my decisions when I turned 18. God help us all, I used to laugh at the term “cradle to grave”.

I also support legislation that applies reasonable controls over the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of firearms. It’s already been established that even in America, not everyone has the right to bear arms. Let’s continue to establish laws that will support law enforcement in keeping firearms out of the hands of people who would use them to kill innocent people.

Whenever there is a shooting, the Democrat wants to take guns away from the people who didn’t do it. Here’s another example of feel-good liberal meddling that will do nothing to solve the problem of gun violence committed by other Democrats on psychotropic drugs and mental disorders, but will definitely chill the good citizen’s ability to defend self and family.

In 2011 less than 350 people out of a population of 320 or so million were killed by a rifle of any type.

These “Celebrities” are useful tools of the Statist Authoritarian New National Socialist LEFT.

What does RFK’s assassination have to do with the legislation being debated?

Sirhan Sirhan used a .22 caliber revolver. Are they saying that RFK would still be alive if they had banned military-style rifles in advance? Are they saying that Sirhan Sirhan would’ve submitted to a background check before carrying out his assassination plot?

Or is it more likely that they saying that, eventually, they’ll get around to adding .22 caliber revolvers to their list of banned weapons?

Mayors Against Illegal Guns should change their name to Mayors Making Guns Illegal.

This isn’t something they just realized they wanted to do. Liberals have wanted to ban gun ownership in America for as long as they can remember, and the Sandy Hook shooting is just an excuse for them to push an agenda they’ve had ready to go.
