What we have NOW is a demand for special treatment by the black community, where they, and they alone, are granted special privileges, and not held to the same standards as other citizens. There have been few voter problems in those states for years , and being expensive the Voter Rights legislation does place , IMO , a onerous federally mandated burden on certain states that other states do not have to contend with . I don't agree with the idea of nixing the Voter Rights Act personally , but I can see where others might have a differing , but equally valid opinion to the contrary.
