How exactly is a HUGE increase in funding considered ANY type of cut???? Do they think folks are really that dumb??? What is funny are comments from folks claiming this is due to inflation!!! Remember the Feds keep telling us we have no inflation. You cannot have it both ways.

The transportation budget is as followed (source the Department of Transportation).

FY2012 Request: $128 billion
FY2011 Request: $79 billion
FY2010 Enacted: $77 billion

Under sequestration they would lose less than 1% or 1BN. If LaHood can’t deal with a 1% cut he should be fired. I know a lot of accountants who can do the job.

This whole thing is a manufactured crisis.

OR— they could work around it unless they want to punish the nation for political leverage against the Republicans. It’s not about what’s the right thing to do for the people, but forcing public opinion to support socialism against their political enemies. The ignorant and small minded will agree with the socialists that the government should choose to make life more difficult upon the people in favor of supporting class war fare for political leverage.

Typical liberal logic. If you don’t get a raise, it must be a cut. Americans are dealing with it everyday. It is time for the government to do the same. Tighten their belts. Eat their peas. I find it comical that you call me uninformed when you didn’t have the right budget. (You have to READ the bill to see what’s in it!)

I stand corrected on the budget, (FY 2012 vs. 2013). My mistake. However, given that there was inflation greater than 2%, this is still a real cut. And a lot of that increase was for job creation projects, you know, pay a worker to build a bridge, pay a steel manufacture to build a bridge, all of whom turn around and plow those funds back into American owned small businesses for goods and services, all of which compounds, (that means multiplies), the value of the investing in America and American workers. Of course your losing team had put forward a different plan, lead by little mittens romney. A plan of pumping more and more of the money that the ruling class elites steals, (via corporate welfare, favorable tax treatment, etc), form us hard working Americans in order to put it into their Grand Cayman secret and untaxed bank accounts. That’s proven well leading us up to the current depression. Let’s do more and faster.

Bottom line, the people won, they elected the Democrats to the executive branch (the President), increased their majority in the upper chamber, (the Senate), and increased their seats in the lower chamber, (the House of Representatives). Your party of the uninformed and tools of the ruling class (you two included) lost. As little dickey cheney and georgey boy bush said. “get over it”

You are incorrect Mikey. Google 2013 DOT budget. It will take you to the WH.gov 2013 budget. What I posted is correct. This is the first paragraph.
“Invests a total of $74 billion in discretionary and mandatory budgetary resources for the
Department of Transportation, an increase of 2 percent, or $1.4 billion, above the 2012
enacted level. This includes job-creating infrastructure investments as well as savings from
reductions to grant programs for larger airports.”

As for hate speech, yours is the only HATE I see on here. Myself and BK are simply reporting FACTS. Something you seem to love to ignore.

If LaHood were an executive at any private company that said he could not cut less than 2 percent from the budget of that company…. he would find himself thrown out on the sidewalk on his keester. Worthless bums we have pretending they are good stewards of the taxpayers hard earned money. oBama couldn’t cut the budget of a lemonade stand.

Wow! More lies spewed by this administration and liberal Democrats! The Sequester only cuts 2.4% of growth to new future spending. Overall growth in government spending would only be reduced by 2.4%. There are NO real cuts to current spending levels! Liberal Democrats are just fear mongering again!
