First, the republicans are getting those spending cuts they wanted for 4 years, this will cost them at least a million middle class votes.

Now this is just in about Ted Cruz:

“He has been hailed by the Tea Party express as a politician who is “shaking up Washington, D.C. just like he promised” and by another political action committee, the Senate Conservatives Fund, as someone who is “showing Washington what courage looks like.”

It’s early yet but the Republican Party will probably nominate this guy for President. They’ve shunned Chris Christi, they only candidate they might have that could actually win.

Things are constantly making me happy.

“With a $16.6 trillion national debt, and a promise to the American people to address it, one thing is perfectly clear: We will cut Washington spending,” Mr. McConnell said. “We can either secure those reductions more intelligently, or we can do it the president’s way with across-the board cuts. But one thing Americans simply will not accept is another tax increase to replace spending reductions we already agreed to.”

The President is correct, the full weight of these cuts won’t be felt for a couple months. The republicans think this gives them time to change their agenda.

They forget a budget fight that could shut the whole government down is on the horizon. They will either appropriate money for infrastructuer, education , research, etc or they won’t.
