Asserting that “the American people” are on his side, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., told me during an exclusive interview for “This Week” that any that deal reached between Republicans and Democrats to avoid the looming sequester must — “without any question” – include revenue.

“The American people are on our side. The American people don’t believe in these austere things. We believe that the rich should contribute. We believe we should fill those tax loopholes — get rid of them, I should say. And that’s where we need to go,” Reid said. “And I’ve got a pretty good fan base for that: the American people. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.”

With all due respect your honor, you do not have a pretty good fan base on this issues. Its really disrespectful to the American people for you to keep saying this as if we have no idea what the role of the Senate is in this entire mess. Also, we live in the 21st Century so we don’t really rely on mass media to show us what our lawmakers are doing because listening to you blame the Republicans, throw a rock in the water and blame the Republicans for the waves is really elementary Senator. Please rise above this and work with the House on issues instead of against them. You all are very intelligent people so I know you can do it. Folks will be more willing to work and compromise with you when you show the same. I know many that voted for the Democratic platform that feel embarrassed over this blame for failures and accept credit if things go right attitude. I am a Missouri citizen but I would appreciate a response from you regarding the GOA Report and your not providing a Budget as the Constitution requires of the U.S. Senate.
