I watched the author, Chris Mooney,of a book called the Republican Brain being interviewed on the Morning Joe a while back. Fascinating what his research revealed. I have not read it but I would very much like to. When I think of what the Republican party is actually doing in Congress and in the states where they are in control I can not help but think about the Taliban. There is a comparison here to these two political organizations. Both of them want to force people to adhere to their version of religion, they both want to force the governments to also conform to their religious dogma, and they both want to control woman. The difference is only a matter of degree.

THEFIRSTONE00….I’m being serious with this question…but have ever read any good books that the subject matter deals with the ‘evangelical mind set’? If you have you all ready understand why the GOP hierarchy decided to pander to them and enlist them in their “Southern Strategy…started some 40 years or more ago. It is one of the MAIN reasons why I cannot bring myself to vote for a Republican candidate…ever again. Because they are ‘severely hampered’….by this type of blind, unrealistic mind set that is based on ‘subjective, uncompromising principles’. principles that DO NOT mirror…real life.

So much for Family Values unless adultery is now considered a Family Value. This man is not the first man, particularly those in power, cheated on his wife. But, he took off leaving his ‘family” on FATHER’S DAY no less. However, the major point is that he took off without even telling his office he was leaving the country. He lied to his own staff telling them he was hiking. This man also used taxpayer money to be in this woman’s bed. I understand that this man “fell in love” with this woman and has reportedly married her, but, that is not the issue. Marriages break up all the time but this man only cared about himself when he took off on his family on FATHER’S DAY. Where are the family values that are so Republicans run on CONSTANTLY. It appears that Republicans will “forgive” these men who cheat on their wives..sometimes even while their wife is on her death bed….and all they need to do is ask for forgiveness and everything is OK…The republicans Impeached Clinton but yet this man can fly out of the country on the taxpayer’s dime, telling his own staff that he was hiking and that is OK…really!!!!?

If this guy gets in I’ll throw up my hands. There is no way he should considering we’re constantly hearing he’s on the side of morals and values. The biggest sin he committed was taking off and putting his state in harms way if an emergency took place. But then there’s that horrible way he could not shut up after getting caught, when he further humiliated his wife. He is by far one of the worst cheaters I have ever seen and he deserves NO more government jobs.

6 days AWOL (with the intention of staying 10 days BEFORE BEING CAUGHT) ethics charges and a $74K fine, use of taxpayer funds for at least one of his romantic rendezvous to Buenos Aires (which he reimbursed WHEN HE GOT CAUGHT,) betrayal of the public trust, betrayal as state fiduciary, target of a blackmailer…,the list goes on as proof as to why this man is might hope for forgiveness and redemption, but not as a public servant.
